I am not sure why you want deride John Lang to protect Flanno.
Lang won a premiership.
Peach - 4 SoO
Et - Rep Legend
Mat rogers 8 SoO
Lang - 8 games SoO
J Stevens - Up there
Treister - Not rep quality
Nick graham - Not rep quality
Russell Richardson - One season wonder
Mitch Healey - Not rep quality
V the Broncos, Bulldog and Manly of the 90s.
Do agree on 1999 choke, I was there.

Just comparing the weird protective love for Lang ... Who had as much failure as Flano but had a much better team IMO
The nucleus had played together for years as juniors.

I think 01 was an even bigger failure.
The same bunch of blokes against Newcastle in Sydney.

I don't care about previous coaches success or failings I just want the best coach possible. At this stage I think we have a top 4 squad with a bottom 4 coach. We can and should do better. Then top it off with Asada and he's toxic IMO.

How do you pick a new coach then?

That will be for the Club to decide they will need to set a new set of guide lines what direction our football club needs to win a premiership and employ a coach that will deliver this, What we have currently won't win us a Grand Final

I just don't understand how we consistently lose to Manly.
They have been awful this year, the tigers put 36 on them last week by playing good attacking football spreading the ball wide and using their pace against their old (and) slow centres.. and this year we have the backs to do the same thing..
so what does master coach flanno tell them?.. tighten up, barge up the middle, same old boring tactics and same old result...
you can protect Flanno all you like but bottom line is our attack is pedestrian at best we are alwful inside the attacking oppositions 20 and we lack ideas or innovation, players come here with a good reputation from previous clubs and then they to look slow and cumbersome when playing under flanno... the guy needs to change and adapt to todays style of play or go, simple as that...

Geez, busy in here today.

We lost to Manly, away mind you, what's new?

Let's see what happens over the next few weeks, that game is simply no guide to our form.

For the record, I don't rate him as a coach but he went well last year after a slow start - lets see what happens this year with a better squad.

Simple as he wont win us the comp. terribly tough task in the modern era for any coach, let alone Cronulla head coach, which has to be the bigger double edged sword of all time.
I think he will change as the year goes and the losses start to mount but he annoys me that he is always late to act.
Said this plenty of times, but round 1!last year losing to Canberra - he had been away for a year, came back and same crap. What has changed
I am now rambling but keep recruiting well and maybe get John morris to help

I guess that's why we're wrist-slitting.

Whilst we continue to lose games that we should win, we will never get to the GF, letalone win it...

We all just visualise a successful season, only to fail at one of the last hurdles...

We put 30 on the dragons the week before
South put a zillion on whoever it was for 2 weeks
Then dragons score 8 and beat Souths

The 100 ml of rain probably had a lot to do with both teams game plan last night.
They only scored one try from a backline move.

TBH, I was more surprised there was any semblance of grass on the pitch last night. Usually a mud pit at Brookie at the best of times let alone under all that rain...

Put things in perspective we scored 3 or 4 tries for kicks so hardly enterprising football..

Even last night we were lucky to score those 8 points in first 10 minutes, if Maloney's kick charged down goes the other way Eagles have ball on halfway game changes immediately

You'd have thought the opening 10 minutes of totally starving the opposition of the ball wouldve won us the game...but it actually lost it.

We didn't capitalise & the Eagles got a lot of inspiration out of their defence & instead of tiring faster, they came home strong.
