Titans beat tigers

Comparing other games means nothing

That's fine but how many times can you accept the fact that we lose these games that we should (and must) win???.. I mean Manly 0-2 showing absolutely nothing, we coming off a morale boosting win and what do we do? we play crap football straight into Manly's hands, and show absolutely nothing and puts us back 2 steps...
We gain no momentum from displays last night and all it does it raises more questions and self doubt within the playing group which knocks their confidence..
This side on paper should have cruised to a victory last night but couldn't and could only manage 12 points against a side that conceded 28 and 36 in the previous 2 weeks.. anyway you look at it it's demoralizing and we need to play a different type of football to turn things around, otherwise can't see too much changing unfortunately... take a leaf out of the eels book FFS!.

We put 30 on the dragons the week before
South put a zillion on whoever it was for 2 weeks
Then dragons score 8 and beat Souths

The 100 ml of rain probably had a lot to do with both teams game plan last night.
They only scored one try from a backline move.

How many tries did we score from a back line move against the Dragons?

Can't remember
There was 5 of them

Barba 1
Loots 1
Kick to val 1
I'd say 3

I guess it depends on what you consider a backline move. Of the 3 tries you mentioned I'd only consider Barbas try to be scored from a backline move. Vals was from a s$&t kick from Townsend that got a lucky rebound. Leuteles try was just him barging over.

My idea of a backline move is something constructed / planned, not luck. For example, the 2 Cowboys tries the other night that were both identical and had 2 decoy runners that lead to their winger scoring both times.

We beat them in every stat including line breaks and offloads

Sometimes the bounce of the ball at critical times just doesn't go your way.

Didn't you see them put on about 20 rehearsed decoy runs and inside balls for Barba?
They didn't come off ... But that is not the coaches fault.
Some of them are going to .
Training them with pretend defence is not the same as a real game.

Barbas was a backline move ffs
Loots was also - Geeze ...not every try goes thru every set of hands in the backs for it to be a " move"
So was vals ... Yeah there was a kick after a lucky bounce but it was a perfectly timed kick to the winger .
Not an arsey grubbed down the guts.

FTR did you hear the commentator say vals try on Monday was the exact same backline move the dogs put on?

When I watch our backs close to the opposition try line, it's as if they think a thousand inside passes and decoys will bamboozle the defense. It's really confusing to watch and at time I don't think our runners even know what they trying to do. It's very disjointed. The defense just slide across and are never troubled. We then resort to Ennis trying a grubber or face ball to a forward to barge our way over.

I agreed above that Barbas try was a result of a backline move. Leuteles try was nothing, they threw the ball out to him and he somehow managed to get over the line.

I think people are getting carried away with the scoreline vs the Dragons and they think we played well. The Dragons up until our first try were better than us, much better. Benji was tearing us apart. We were extremely lucky with our first try and then the Dragons just fell apart. If you ask any Dragons supporter they will tell you they have never seen their team play so bad. We were very lucky that they played so bad because in attack, we looked liked headless chickens and have no idea how to get across the try line. If we played a team they didn't play as badly as Dragons, we very well probably would have lost.

I didn't hear that comment about Vals try but to be honest I was only half watching at that point because I was so angry at what was happening.

TLDR, don't get caught up in the scoreline against the Dragons like Flano wants you to so you think everything is rosy.

Good thing tries scored from more than four pretty passes are worth 6 points

You could describe our game against the Hartleys in the exact same way. We dominated for the first period then fell apart to some degree. Maybe not as much as the Stains but nevertheless lost our way. Im basing my optimism on the Cows game. We looked sharp and if not for some errant plays could have won the game. On the back of that and home ground support we won the Stains match which in the past may have seen us dragged down to the standard they were playing at.

People may not like my view but in an attempt to make the game more exciting, I'd like to see tries from hooker be worth less or mean you don't get to convert it. I just find it extremely boring.

so not zero.
not 1
not 2
what about Chads excellent vision to send the perfect kick out the backs to Val ( who was calling for it )
that makes 3.

Dragons scored 2 points in 80 minutes...even against 12 players for 10 minutes
yeah they were carving us up...haha.
Benji made a break threw it to Unco he got chased down easily and that was all she wrote.

Early days.
good effort against the premiers in Townsville
Great job on the merged
Average job with no luck and a player unconscious against Manly at Brookvale.
Hit the panic button!!!!!

Using that logic carch, this rock keeps away tigers.
How does it work?
It doesn't it's just a stupid rock.
Carch, I'd like to buy your rock.

Seriously though, agree with you. It's round three. We've had an OK game, a better game and an ordinary game.
If we don't improve after Monday's game or get worse, defensively then there may be an issue.

In the end do we win 10 straight to start the year and limp into the finals with 2 from last 8 or,
Build as the year goes on and go into the finals firing and in form???
