Anyone still want to sack Flanno?

The most interesting stat you keep hearing in our games, we win the wet, funny that when teams cannot attack we come into our own.

Flanno like the grind the wet suits the grind we win most of our games lose the odd on, get a dry track lose most win the odd one

Yep - not the end of the world. We will win again this year and probably some good victories..... But......

We we all know (well the smarter ones do) that we are no threat.

We have seen the best of what we have to offer.

Under this coaching setup it gets no better than this.

Holmes Bird and Barba cannot progress to the next level until they are exposed to the challenges and training that allows such.

2 and three quarter seasons to go.

How exciting.

Has lyall stopped coaching this week , I thought it was sorted when he had a word to flanno.

He does have to stop persisting with barba though, has to go to NSW cup the guy has no confidence and hasn't for a long time.

FMD - don't you start making suggestion for ff**ks sake.

We already have a bloke with no idea in Flanno. We dont need another.

Like I said I'm not a massive fan of Flanno either. I'd love to have someone better. Fact is, we're stuck with him at the moment. We should have won today but we didn't. I'm not saying it's acceptable that we lost, but
it's not the end of the world. I think we've seen enough the last three weeks that we have a good football side and when they click, they'll do well.

Pretty much the way I see it mate.

He shouldn't have been hired 4 years ago, at least without testing the market; &
He shouldn't have been re-signed after the "Governance" issues, also without testing the market.

But we stupidly did & we have no money to terminate him, so we are stuck with him.

As much as it sucks, we have to go on as is.

Reason most are whizzed off with him is that we all know he will be here for at least 2 or the next 3 years.
$$$$ dictates all.
Will be there or abouts but never a threat in the grand scheme of things, as always in our history.
And that is the real shame.

Someone mentioned "smart". Lots of people knew we were going to lose this one. Have been losing games like this for fegging ever regardless of coaches, players, position on the table you name it. Can someone smarter than I (probably everyone on here) tell me why though? The ruthless teams (which I was hoping we had started to become but alas) would have found a win today. Riddle me this anyone, what is the common factor that means we keep failing these kind of tests? Got me fugged it really has. Just rambling thoughts, nothing to see here.

- Is Flanno a proven first grade coach with premierships under his belt? = No
- Is Flanno in his first real gig as head coach i.e a complete rookie? = Yes
- Since Ricky all out quit has Flanno rode out some pretty wild times in his first gig? =Yes
- Have we all ever felt at sometimes this rookie coach has punched way beyond his weight? = Yes
- Should he be sacked based on the teams results?

So there's just the 3 of us

How's super coach Madge going without his key player, beaten by flanno and sticky.

This is the happiest s73 has been in a month.

Imagine how elated he'll be should we actually get flogged in a game.

Bloody good question Vin!

Like when we beat the roosters last year?

What's your point? Flanno wasn't coach then.

I actually think Flanno isn't a bad coach. For the most part he gets the team he wants and he gets them to play how he wants.

Unfortunately, he needs players with individual brilliance to play what they see to get us the wins when his plan isn't working. He can't come up with the winning plan he just has his plan. He can't coach structure or set plays or give the players the tools they need to get better (forwards excluded).

I honestly think Leutelle would be talked up big time if he was in a club like the Cowboys or the Storm. In our team he's nothing. Bird at 5/8th is doing a massive job pushing shit up hill trying to make something of nothing. Imagine how much better he'd be if he had option runners and decoys to give him something to work with?

Edit: and to answer Vin's question, it's because of the above, because we rely more on luck and individual brilliance instead of structure and set plays that are drilled into us until we can do it in our sleep.... that we lose when we're supposed to win and throw in the extra effort to jag the win when we should lose.

It was a comparison to how we won last year when we shouldn't have.
My point was underdogs can spring upsets. It happens all the time.
You only need to look the weekends games.

The Flanagan game plan worked against the premiers last weekend while we were missing our front row and capt.
We had a 2 game 5/8 as well.

I doubt the coach told them to give away stupid penalties like the feki barba one .
That is what lost the game.
There was a few that kept us at the wrong end.
Lewis gave one away as well from memory.

Last Mondays game had to have taken a massive toll.

ALSO

it not like we were leading the comp last year when we beat the roosters... we were last and they were probably near the top .
Yesterdays game was against a team equal with us on the ladder. FFS.

If we win ,silence, when we lose sack Flanno_On the basis of this years results with so called top coaches,we should sack Brad Arthur,Toovey,Madge ,Stone,McFadden,Hasler and Robinson.
With the cattle these teams have, they should be bolting it in.

Sheesh no team is a real standout this year.Closest comp, since Genghis Kahn laid on boots.

Leutele in another club might be a dangerous centre, remember M.Wright tried his best here we couldnt get him over the line goes to Cowboys and has his best year in 2014

Yes having a Thurston or a Cronk does make average backs look better than they are.

coulkdnt agree more

good coaches don't need inglisses slaters and burgesses

they win the comp with nobodies who show no individual talent

in any case flanno has experienced top line backs like feki and bird

he should have played bird at 5/8 and gotten rid of gallen
