I wonder if this forum will ever accept a close loss as simply that. But nah there were external forces at play conspiring against us definitely!

I accept the loss. Still not sure about golden point but I accept it fair and square. Widdop stays on, we win. Good news is we get to play Storm next week and I will expect the same level of effort from the Mighty Dragons, and I will be pleased.

I don't think you can glean much about individual performances.

We lost our organiser for half the match, lost our fullback for 15 minutes, shuffled the backline to all hell and still managed to force OT.

Show me another team that would perform better given those conditions.
Yes and lose by a field goal

Its because Packer and Voughn are off and i think Merry brings them back on too late.
Yeah true, this has been the case, and both games recently have seemed to turn at this point. I noticed JDB was brought back on a lot quicker this game so Mary will hopefully continue to rectify this.

Very
Have to be proud. You can't shit on McCrone after what was almost 2 perfect kicks in extra time. His first bomb should've had a much better chase than what it did. The second kick in a different universe stays in and we win the game.

Furthermore after almost beating the Roosters without Widdop for most of the game (Also lost Dugan for a good while), in my opinion this makes us look even more legitimate than we did before.

With a full strength squad we WILL make a deep run into the finals.
very proud of the team - U can't plan for losing your number 1 playmaker then ur fullback for 20 minutes..
Field has to step up.!!!

f**k me Drunk !! ???

Don't want to read all the 'reality check' shit, blablablah

We were found out big time. Boys did really well but we were found out big time.

Going to bed.
Look, I dont agree that we were 'found out' and I'm not even disheartened by the game. But our second halves are a concern. We definitely drop off in intensity. If its a case of Packer and Vaughan coming off then Mary needs to amend his bench strategy (although even when they come back on, we dont lift again and TBH, Ah Mau and Simms are doing fine!). Happened against Cows, Manly, Sharks too.

Worst possible outcome though. Not only did we lose, but Mythchell Piss (who should have been binned after sliding into Dugan) scored the winning try and field goal, basically guaranteeing him a NSW jersey and f**king our SOO chances.

Can only hope that the Warriors give the Storm a touch up or at least a very physical game like we got today. With a 5 day turn around, it's going to be a tough task to back up as well after today.

Very very proud of the effort. McCrone so unlucky with that kick. Yes, lost direction without Widdop and only 4 days to get it together with I assume Mann to 5/8 and Milne to the bench. Is it only me or does anyone else hint that Simms is not delivering?

I would rather say that Sele may be in shallow waters - not giving us the punch we need - Simms is an animal

I don't like extra time. Dragons didn't deserve to get nothing from that. All extra time does is see who gets a field goal.
NRL is quite laughable. n finals game extra time rules are different cause a game cant be decided by a field goal without the other team getting a chance. It isn't fair. But a game during the year can.

A draw is a draw. A point a piece was fair.

However Widdops missed goal he normally throw that over. And the first try was a try.

After watching this team a few times now I tell you what it needs. New centres. Ones with same pace and footwork. Many times the halves put their centres in good attacking raids. A Jennings would of caused trouble.
With Hunt coming I reckon a strike centre and its a premiership team.

Oh and re sign Dugan before dogs get him.

So much courage on display from the team today and it's obvious both here and other places that the majority of us are very proud.

I must say though that there is a marked difference in the kicking game of McCrone when compared to other players, he certainly doesn't seem to be able to put up a high ball. I was also surprised with a few seconds to go that he didn't have a shot at a field goal when he had the chance. The second half was a really big chance for him to step up but unfortunately for him, the team and us it just didn't happen.

Having said that I can't remember the last time I've taken a loss so well. Well done on doing the Anzac spirit proud boys.

Yeah hewi, I agree. I think Sims is capable of more than he is delivering. I want to see the Sims that score 2 tries against Cronulla last year.

I think Pierce should have been sin binned for his sliding into Dugan. Interesting to see if the match review committee do anything with it. Probably won't.

Did anyone else have doubts on whether Pierce had regripped the ball properly in scoring his try?

Great effort by the boys though!

Agree want to see the Simms of that Sharks game, I think he gave away two penalties. Pierce should have been put on report, but thought his try was ok unfortunately. If I was a Roosters fan I wouldn't take to much from that game, they beat a Dragons team badly down on manpower and had the refs in their pocket and scraped home.

Thought we were on the right side of calls in the first half by the refs but were certainly on the wrong side in the second.

The only reason they took Dugan off for a HIA was because of the previous fine. When he went off, it was way after he got the actual head knock and it looked more like a neck issue to me.
