Obviously it'd be great to have the game shown nation wide.. but imo, not against one of the AFL's biggest games of the seasons. It'd be cannon-fodder and a greater reason for Channel 9 in the other states to not show RL at reasonable times.

Exactly, so why does Gallop go and make a song and dance about the game being built up into a major event and shown live nationally when he doesn't have the balls to get Nine to show it?

As I understood the negotiations were ongoing. The schedules are always released about a week or so ahead of time, there is still a potential for a change.

Maybe because the Grand Final is the only game we get live on FTA. It's hard to get excited about watching regular season games when you won't see the conclusion until around 2.30am... Most people need sleep you know.
