Looks big, strong and fast. Great pick up. Will have to fight for a spot in first grade as our back five have been excellent.

Is he big enough to play second row?

IMO he’ll be first up injury cover so will end up getting a lot of games. Will likely be groomed to take over from Gags.

He’s 190cm and 95kg so probably could but given how quick he is I think that’d be a waste.
Ideally he has a gun pre season, kills it in trials and leapfrogs Sharpe or Marzhew, otherwise he’s injury cover for wing/centre and we don’t have to move Dylan Lucas around.

Yeah spot on, Schiller is Gags heir apparent. He'll get first-drop treatment next year for the outside backs as you both said, and should be a walk up start to fill Gags shoes the year after at right centre for sure

Honestly, our first-string 1 -> 5 looks healthy into the future. Got a bloke like Votano coming through too, and a lot of good judges seem to suggest he'll be a hard one to hold back.

So our spine next season might be?

1. Ponga
6. Pryce
7. Pezet
9. Phoneix

Apparently Crossland might play for New Zealand.

Dally M nominees announced. We have nobody in any position. Bit disappointed but not surprised.

I personally wanted Madge to replace AOB here. However, it looks like he is going to the Broncos. Hope we dodged a bullet and not missed out on a great coach.

I’m actually so upset he has quit the nsw job

DT is reporting Laurie Daly is favourite to take over……it would literally put the team backwards about 10 years…….he is not a good coach or motivator

IMO Madge is a coach you can have for about 1 year, maybe 2 tops before he starts to burn players out. That’s what makes him perfect for rep footy.

I actually think he’s the perfect fit for the Broncos. They’ve got a team that’s premiership ready and they need a coach that can go in in the short term, improve their attitude and help them get to a title.

He wouldn’t work here IMO as by the time we get a premiership roster he would have already burnt the playing group out. We need to replace AOB with a coach like Madge once we get a better roster and want to compete for a comp. It would be an absolute shit show if we signed him now IMO.

Agreed, would love to be a fly on the war at broncos preseason when he gets stuck in to all the entitled kids up there

The good news is, we're likely to see some players go on the market soon.

The bad news is, they're going to be soft pea-hearts, and we've had our fill of those already.

Don’t see it as a bad thing tbh, we know how player managers use any single thing they can to up the value of their client’s contract, it also kind of sums up the totality of our season

Willie Peters just coached Hull KR to a SL GF. Their first. Impressive effort. Defeated Sam Burgess’ Warrington side who have a far stronger roster.

It's actually amazing how many people leave our organisation and go on to be successful.

I reckon if you sat back and made a list of players and coaches that moved on to far greener pastures, it'd be a solid list.
