I'd just about let the team run a train on me for $1M a year.

It all proves one thing. The narrative in league is simply an invention of the media and the clubs decide how they respond to it and the story they put up. It has gone from the players making the call to
Benji making the call. No one will ever know the truth outside of who was there.

The press release was amateur, reads like a kid prepared it, and only served to stir the story.

In the statement, they will not be releasing him early. A stupid thing to say. Never lay your cards on the table like that.

Now they have 2 choices
1) keep a potentially cancerous squad member for 18 months, the media scrutiny, the players union etc
2) back track and look weak like they're still getting dicked around and manipulated by player managers.
Three choices. Leave him in reserve grade. It's pretty clear his teammates don't give two f**ks, so it's not going to impact performances, and if the players union wants to get involved, that's only going to impact Galvin.

My thoughts are, i hope Galvin sees out his contract with Tigers whether that be 1sts or Cup, I hope somewhere along the way injuries, minor of course no intent meant, cause friction within Club for Galvins recall with a possible top 8 finish a possibility. Tigers miss out on top 8 finish due to indecision and player backlash despite late season revival with inclusion of Galvin.
Club, Management, Coach and Players are reprimanded for poor attitude and decision making that caused poor end to a season of hope. Discussions between all without public statements could have resolved all to everyone’s satisfaction.
All clubs have resolved to have less if any involvement with player manager Moses.

Any club whose leaders think that the way to lead is via instagram posts isn't on the way up. They're the same club they've always been. They love Benji because he's closer to being one of the boys than he is a coach. He'll be gone within 24 months.

When is the last time you saw a team like the Storm have their leaders lead like high schoolers via instagram? Is amateur hour still.

If they didn't "give two f**ks" they wouldn't comment of social media like jilted high schoolers. Silly stuff from 2 guys that left their last club for more money$$$.

From management to the player leadership group the Tigers have proven Galvin made the correct decision for his future. I wouldn't want my kid playing for that rabble.

More concerning is the amount of people that get triggered and read media scuttlebutt as truth - wow.

They're entitled to their opinion, just like anyone else.

You're a bit out of touch with the way younger people do things these days, and that's ok. Everyone gets old.
Yes everyone remembers the Billy Slater and Cam Smith "opinions" on Instagram when Copper Cronk signed with the Rorters......nah just kidding - leaders don't behave like children.

Leadership values, conduct, and integrity hasn't changed, they are fundamental to human nature.

You're a bit out of touch with "the way" successful leaders conduct themselves, and that's ok. Not everyone can be successful.

Souths might do well to accept Walker is cooked. Give Dodds the 7 and let him learn NRL. Also Wayne’s half time speech about going back to basics rings familiar. What is that when you are down 20 nil to a defensive wall? Perhaps he thought he could bore them to death.

What is going on in this competition right now? If we ever had motivation to beat Cronulla and fix our attack, now is the time. There a lot of sides looking very vulnerable right now and we have stood tall defensively.

We’ve conceded 26-20-24 our last three games, with barely offering points ourselves. Wooden spooners kept to 8, and a flood ravaged away Dolphins to 12 is hardly cause for optimism.

I think the 20 conceded against the Dogs comes with a big asterisk though. We essentially were 2 players down from the time of kick off, including a winger which is always tricky to replace. Then we had Hetherington go down with 30 mins to go and a period down to 12 men too. So conceding 3 tries under those circumstances isn’t that bad.

Also if you look at the games v Tigers round 6 and the Titans round 4 we only completed at 67% in both of those. That brings a lot of fatigue with it and just puts unnecessary pressure on the defence, especially given how many we dropped coming out of our own defensive end.

To me, the defence hasn’t been atrocious by any means, and actually does look pretty good in patches. But we’re just not in control of the game at all when we drop so much ball. If we fix that up and complete over 80% regularly then our defence is good enough to keep most teams to under 20 points in a game. Which right now, we need to be doing because our attack looks dreadful, outside of one game against the dolphins.

Our defence is admirable compared to our attack. But we’re one of two teams still only conceding double figures. The other is somewhat better off.

They have conceded 20/24/8/6/0/0. Somewhat the opposite trajectory.

Yes we are aware of that. And if you look across the competition that is actually against trend. Cos many sides are conceding big points and still winning. Which is why it looks worse than it actually is, cos attack is woeful. We kept the Dogs tryless in a half. And were injury riddled.
