I can & that is how it should be.
ASADA ARE the "drugs in Sport Police" .
Can you imagine the Police, Feds anybody throwing out a press release at thestart of each week in regars to which peole they believe might be criminals? & what the alleged criminals were doing?
its fuccjjkking insane.
The absolute earliest anybody should have heard about this, is last week when multiple athletes were given show cause notices.
At this stage, nobody at the Sharks should be aware of any investigation going on.

Agreed. This has all come around because the greasy fat fug in charge of AFL, leaked it to essendon when they knew what was going down. Essendon and men's netball tried to spin doctor it to their own tune and caught asada with their pants down in the early stages of their process. Cue government stooges who after reading a page, decide they are experts and further spin it to their own ends. The victims are the athletes and the supporters watching this clustefugg unfold. In the words of patches O'Houlihan in dodgeball " it's like trying to watch a bunch of geniuss hump a doorknob"

I thought I heard on the radio this morning, something about afl players having any ASADA related suspension backdated AND being allowed to serve the ban over the off season. Interesting.

What kind of ban is that? If that comes to pass for the AFL only, it'll be obvious that there was backroom dealings going on.

What a joke.

It is already obvious there were backroom deals. Part of Essendon's defense they have leaked to the media is that players would cooperate saying they didn't take anything they knew was banned and if it turned out it was banned they would escape sanction for their assistance.
They are trying to say you offered us this but are now saying our players will cop 6 months if they turn themselves in, we only cooperated under the impression the first was guaranteed etc etc blah blah.

I think I see your point ,but I thought ek999 meant NRL should stand back, offer no comment, support or legal advice to the clubs or players while all types of shite are thrown at them. Abit like a Mcdonalds Franchisee being raked over the coals by health authorities for matters not entirely his own fault . You would expect the franchiser to be fully aware of all aspects of the case and be protecting their own people and product, and brand.

You have my thoughts pretty well spot on. This is a club being investigated and not the NRL. If a club or a group within a club is being investigated for wrongdoing, then the NRL lets them do so without interference. If the NRL is asked by the investigators to assist then they should do so completely but otherwise stay out of it. The NRL should be given updates on how things are progressing so they can plan for any outcome but only speak publically on it when providing updates as authorised by ASADA.

I also think that a players club and the RLPA should be who the players turn too at any time they need assistance with counselling and the like. The NRL are there to run the competition and the game as a whole, not to be providing the day to day support a player at a club may need

I don't think your analagy to a McDonalds franchise is very good either. In that case McDonalds would let the health authorities do any investigation required. If it is found they have done something wrong, McDonalds would protect their brand most likely removing the franchisee or shutting down the store completely to protect their brand.

Perhaps we should burn the non believer witches. Probably about 15 million of our population and rising very quickly. Bec could spread around the bourbon to start the fire. By years end and still nothing has happened she will be the only one with belief and will have to burn us all. Then she can covert the rest of the world to Becism.

Yes. Mcdonalds is a bad Analogy . NRL has only 16 teams "The game as a whole" uses the players from those 16 teams for their competition AND rep games .
Also IF as reefy Beleives that NO one outside ASADA should have known anything until show cause notices were handed out How do you know that more clubs and players are not in strife? The NRL would have to try their best to keep up with everything going on Leaks included.Crazy not to
.Im sure theyd like to restrict the damage to one expendable(even undesirable in their eyes) club using your logic ,and are probably trying to do just that.
