5th test
Day 2
Australias batting lineup absolutely crumbled. But they got enough to make England bat again.
Shane Watson wanted to get at Alistair Cook. He had identified him as a key man in the English lineup and an important wicket. But he had no answer for Cooks tenacious leadership and his loyal players alongside him. Cook would not fall while he still had skilled batsmen like Trott, Bell and Root around him to bat with.
Butchmcdick is NOT dead. He is Alistair Cook, Ashes aligned English top order left-handed batsmen
Watson was disappointed he couldnt get cook but still intended to finish his spell. As he walked back to his mark, the ball came back to him a bit earlier than expected from James Pattinson, striking him in the back of the head and taking him out for good.
Thorson1987 is dead. He was Shane Watson, Ashed aligned Australian all rounder
It was now Pattos turn for a bowl. Australia knew he could be dangerous and they were hoping that danger would work in their favour to win the test. Instead, Pattinson bowled a wide Shaun Tait would be proud of, striking Ed Cowan at bat pad and eliminating him from the game (all the death had made Clarke go a bit loony with his field placings). Clever Ed would no longer be providing his team with vital information.
Monk is dead. He was Ed Cowan, Ashes aligned Australian right-handed top order batsman.
Victoria knew victory was close. If the Ashes players couldnt get rid of one of them today, it could be the very end of the Ashes as we know it.
It is now Day 7.
11 alive, 6 to lynch.
