That is just pure disrespect. He is acting like he owns the club not like he is employed by it. If we run out the same team with the same game plan and get the same result this week Gould and Griffin should both be gone by Monday.

I'm sick of hearing every thought Gould has. Way overexposed and believes way too much that his opinion is fact; it seems as if he thinks that just by saying something, he can make it so.

He was telling rothfield about a month a go that he thinks we can still make the top four now he is telling members to be patient, clearly he is clutching at straws.

The Club built this season up. They released that 'Moment' clip to launch the season that made all fans believe that this could be the year.

Now we are being told by Gus after 9 rounds that we are too young this season.

We weren't too young last season. Have most of the same squad too added with marque signing of Tamou we should be further improving
Whether we slightly overachieved last year our performances this year are massively underachieving.
I am so sick of excuses.

We are older and have a better squad this year. This too too young shit is a cop out 100 percent.

The club is claiming on twitter then Gus ripped up the questions "theatrically" in order to show he was going off script.

Even if that's true it's still poor form. Those people submitted the questions to be answered in a public forum, not later by email (which is happening). It would've given insight into what fans were thinking.

IMO it's a deliberate ploy to minimise the broader exposure of the answers to the obvious questions that would be coming given our current performance.

Speak in a public forum and the media will be all over them and they'll be widely reported. Answer them in a private email, maybe a few responses leak out from a couple of members who frequent places like this, twitter etc but most of them will never see the light of day.

Gus is too smart, they will be cookie cutter responses.
"young team, development, academy, plan, growth, development, success" will be in the word bubble for Gus to construct his replies.

Shit like this f**ks me off and I'm glad I didn't pay for membership this year.

So you thought that a forum would supply the answer to the problems and the squad would magically start winning games again. Well I guess if that doesn't work we can start another thread calling for the board to take action. And when that doesn't work we can start another thread calling on the NRL to sack the board...

Sorry people, nobody is happy about the results but there is not going to be a magic fix. I wish there was. But this isn't a fairy tale.

Who said the forum would equal winning more games? It WOULD have been nice to get answers to the questions they specifically requested before the forum, not just throw them to the wind and give your own little speech.

As for the threads, you're 100% right that they'll make no difference at all. But, it is a good place to vent...

Said 80% were about team performance, so he spoke about that... the other 20% were probably about sacking Griffin so he left that out...

We didnt think the club would lie to us about answering questions. How can you be ok with the club treating its fans in that manner?

Since you will ask where the club lied... its right here:

Panthers Members Forum

All 2017 Panthers members are invited to a forum with Panthers Executive General Manager Phil Gould AM in the EVAN Theatre on Monday night.

The forum will commence at 6.30pm and conclude at approximately 7.30pm.

Gus will respond to members questions that have been submitted prior to the event and, if time permits, take questions from the floor.

Only 2017 Panthers members will be allowed access to the forum - bring your 2017 Panthers membership card to gain entry.

Please use the form below to submit your questions for Gus. If the form does not display please click here.

They were never going to answer the tough questions anyway... but to just tear them ALL? Thats about the worst possible thing he could have done.

Responding to a few later by email is not what the club promised us. But then nothing this season has been what they promised.

Well, actually I heard that he spoke about having offered Hariwira (spelling?) a contract and hoped that he would be stay, that he was elusive when speaking about TMM and that he said the team had a bad attitude when things went wrong. That they tended to put their heads down, tried to rush and/or force plays instead of knuckling down and sticking to the game plan. So it appears as though it wasn't just ripping up some paper and not answering questions.

He might not have given the answers to all the questions or the answers that some expected, but again, what did people expect? Gus to come out and wave a magic wand around? I still think people had too big an expectation if they thought that a forum was a magic fix.

What did people expect?

I expected he'd answer some of the questions that were submitted, like the club said he would.

That's asking too much?

FFS.

No one expected the forum to be some kind of magic bullet, we'd simply hoped there'd be a degree oh HONESTY about what's going on.

Not reading out the questions tells me most were extremely negative. So they're hiding that.

The excuse that the team is too young is clearly more diversion.

I am fast losing interest in this club and RL as a whole.
I'm the same , very long time supporter and occasional season ticket holder. I cant remember being this disappointed in the in the team and squad as a whole, for a very long time.... (maybe the early 80's).
If the object of the board and team management is to alienate and polarise support for it then it's very much succeeding .
It's only for the U20's squad each season that we can hold our head up high, but that seems to be the only constant in all this and it's always what the club pins its hopes on for a brighter future which never really comes to fruition.
Just my 2 cents worth sorry.
