It's not "official" but he has never been a chance. Pipedream stuff by Lehmann and the selectors. I wish they let him focus on proper rehab rather than rushing for this game.

They say the world cup is the priority then do an awful job of showing it. IMO let him rest and bring him back for the MCG and SCG tests.

Bowling - Unfortunately Siddle and Lyon will be picked over Hazlewood. Harris and Johnson are our two frontline bowlers and hopefully remain injury free. As the selectors are still insistent on having "all-rounders" we have the four selected bowlers plus Marsh, Watson, Smith and Warner to bowl if necessary. What is next giving the keeper a bowl (oh wait we have done this before :crazy

Batsmen - According to an article on the CA website supposedly 8 people in the running to replace Clarke which I have put in above. Unsure what the batting order will be if we are looking at openers like Hughes to replace Clarke. Mitch Marsh is talented but has a FC average of under 30. Warner and Smith are the only ones that I have any confidence in and supposedly Smith is under an injury cloud.

If the reports are accurate that the selectors were choosing between as many as 8 blokes then it probably does come down to this week's shield games.

Interesting stuff with Clarke. He doesn't want to play in the tour game preferring grade cricket. CA say he won't be considered unless he plays the tour match. There has been talk of issues between Clarke and Lehman as well in the recent past.

Its not up to Clarke as he thinks its just a matter of his fitness.

He cannot play in the lead up games so he has no form, how can he expect to just walk into the team with no form.
