Last I heard about a week or so back, playing soley as batsman in grade cricket

taking his time due to stress injury on his back

Unlikely to play any tests this summer, certainly not the first 2 tests in Brisbane nor Adelaide. Maybe a smoky for MCG or SCG tests if he starts bowling soonish

Cheers. Wasn't sure if he'd recovered from his back injury yet.

Shame he'll miss India. Taken 20 career wickets @ 25.4 against them. Would have been handy over Siddle.

I got an erry feeling Sean Marsh will be in the XI come first test. Has been batting at no5 for WA. Voges batting above him.

We wont need a no 6 who can bowl on Australian decks and against india, so makes me wonder they are looking at SMarsh for the middle order.

Not sure Boof will play him now, I'd make him sit out so he is OK for the rest of the series.

Get him right for MCG and SCG tests should be the goal

If we are 2-0 going into Melbourne, and Clarke is 95% fit, sit him out of that one as well

Hopefully Warner, Smith and a couple of others can stand up and do the business against India

Keep them in 4 day cricket where they belong. Would rather Bailey over those 2.

I also have a feeling Shaun Marsh will be in the 1st test.

Siddle and Starc aren't up to it. Cummins and Pattinson are coming back from injury and shouldn't play this summer

exactly, except for Sunshine, about 15ks difference in pace between him and Marsh

I know he will bowl but at his pedestrian pace he will just ease the pressure built up by the others

I've been pretty impressed with Marsh

SOK is a merkin, but I'd rather take him into these Tests than Lyon. We someone with a bit of variation. Might have failed in Dubai but he needs more than one chance I guess.

I like Watto as a part time bowler. He is generally very economical and has a knack for taking a crucial wicket. He has to be selected in the team based purely off his batting though with his bowling a bonus. Same goes for Marsh really

Yeah he said it on Fox Sports last night. Absolutely ridiculous that we name our squad when there is another round of shield games before the first test. Will probably see another 15-17 man squad named, which actually lessens the marketing benefits of naming the squad early (if there are any, I don't see how it helps really)
