He was real cos he was arrested and gaoled by white men for a crime a white man accused him of committing against another white man, when in fact it was the accusing white man who killed the white man.Here's a question about the movie for some of the experts on here..
Initially I was convinced one way about this but after it coming in conversation with a few people now I am not so sure. King George, the elderly Aboriginal who is Nulla's grandad. Was he real or was he meant to be a figment of Nulla's imagination/magical powers? The dude was everywhere.

The reason why white man has to be mentioned so often is to point out the bleeding f**king obvious that King George was real. If you were to assume he was a figment of Nulla's imagination you would also have to assume that the whole story itself was as well.
You must have been asleep through most of the movie. Hell even other white men and women saw King George. How could they see him, gaol him, frame him etc etc if he wasn't real?
