So Creagh/Scott/Young doesn't cut it? Please...

No.

But that's simply because there are so many good back rowers in the comp that there are plenty of clubs with great combinations. There is not much between the best and the 8th best when it comes to 2nd rows whereas there are vast differences in quality between the best and the 8th best when you're talking front rows, spines or backlines.

11. Sam Burgess
12. Dave Taylor
13. Michael Crocker

Bench: Eddy Pettybourne, Jason Clark, Nathan Peats, Ben Lowe

Probably our strongest position (like a lot of clubs).

Yeah, I am very happy with our backrow. Burgess needs some game time to prove he is up with the best in the competition again. Crocker's leadership is invaluable on the field, but other players could potentially push for the 13 position

Throw in Sutton there if he doesn't play 5/8

Also have a fair amount of younger depth who can play there.

Cowboys have a great backrow! Also warriors could fit into the top 5 in my books aswell. Only a handful of teams don't have a backrow that I don't see as a strength

And my reasoning for leaving dragons out of my top 5 is because quite simply broncos, manly, tigers, cowboys and sharks are far better in the backrow department then them.

Personally my top 8 would be

1. Brisbane
2. Sharks
3. Manly
4. Tigers
5. Cowboys
6. Warriors
7. Rabbitohs
8. Dragons/Titans

Myles, Harrison and Bird have to be higher then a few of them in my opinion.

Rest are pretty fair, i'd have dragons below a few others too, overrated players.

Mate the backrows of most teams are all very good and almost the main strengths in alot of teams

U could even have Eels, Knights, Dogs up in that 8th spot also that's how close the backrows are.

Says the guy who rates Kasiano. I know you probably fishing, and not worth replying to....but while I agree there are better backrows in other teams, it has to be said that Scott, Creagh and Young did all play origin this year.

Makes you wonder why just about every back rower in the starting sides are all so good when you can name a bunch of average players in just about every other position (fullback might be the nex best filled position). Is it because it is such a versatile position i.e. there are hard runners, ball players and other types with vastly different playing styles while most other positions are a little more specialised? I guess fullback would be the other with similar variation in styles, from the playmaker to the bloke that hangs back waiting for a half to put him through a gap. On the other hand the prop, winger or half is a bit more specialised in that they all do basically the same job. I guess in the same way, it makes it more difficult to compare backrowers for example, Thaiday and Stewart, both exceptionally good back rowers/locks but vastly different styles. Thaiday can break through the line better than most back rowers while Stewart plays like a 2nd 5/8 and creates space to put others through.

11. Smith

with Tupou, Bukuya and Tagataese. Wade will have to move into the forwards now we have Carney.

Back row is certainly the most stacked position in the league currently.

Unlike most other positions, there aren't many bad players holding their spots.

Scott is ok, Creagh is massively overrated, Young too.

Not anywhere near those top 5 or even 8 backrows in my opinion.

Would you have any of them in your Dogs team over say Pritchard or Eastwood?

If Dogs wanna improve their forward pack next year, they need to blood Dale Finucane in place of someone, maybe Halatau.
