Would you have any of them in your Dogs team over say Pritchard or Eastwood?

If Dogs wanna improve their forward pack next year, they need to blood Dale Finucane in place of someone, maybe Halatau.

Halatau was in outstanding form last year, if you didn't watch the dogs much you missed that, he was honestly very good for us, i agree though Finucane needs to be blooded and he will be and i'd expect him and taupau will both be in the first grade squad fulltime over the next 2 seasons.

I wouldn't take creagh or young over either pritchard or eastwood. Might be biased but its just my opinion, i hate creagh and consider him possible the biggest skirt in the nrl. Young is injury proned galore and even before that was nothing special. I think Scott is pretty good though, even if i don't like him.

with Tupou, Bukuya and Tagataese. Wade will have to move into the forwards now we have Carney.

Although i think that would be good, I read an article somewhere this week saying that graham and carney are forming the best combo atm and is the likely halves combo for the trials.

Townsend is biting at their ankles was also stated.

Thats why i didn't name him in the forwards.

Manly's back row is streets ahead of anything else at the moment...there are plenty of good ones, but none come close to Stewart, Watmough, Stewart....with Galuvao, Buhrer et all off the bench......

Manly and Broncos are top for me, but Manly may just pip them on experience I think in the back row.

However the Broncos have the better overall forward pack.

15. Lowe
16. Clark

Then we have Pettybourne, Tyrrell, McQueen, Sutton, Judd, Apps, and even Ha'angana from the 20's (who i think should see some first grade this year or next year) Wouldn't say the best but i mean they do their job well, im happy with what we have. The Broncos backrow would have to be my favourite other than ours, looks exceptionally well.

Is Rodney still at Manly next year?

He's so underrated. I'd take him over T Williams in my starting pack every day of the week.

I like Manly's the best.

Anthony Watmough is a bruising pack leader
Tony Williams a line breaker
Glenn Stewart a ball player (and perhaps the 2nd best backrower in the comp behind Gallen atm).

Great combination, and ultimately the spine that dominated the finals and took Manly to the Premiership. Hard to overlook those facts.

Rodney headed over to England unfortunately. I agree that he was very underrated, he certainly added a lot to the team and it was good having him start with Williams coming on to carve up tiring defenses. I think the loss of Rodney now is much less substantial than it would have been 12 months ago now that Buhrer and Williams have a bit more experience but I'm confident Buhrer will make up for his loss which will give him more than 10min a game like Hasler gave him.

Ridiculous some Manly fans seem to think their backrow is streets ahead of everyone else - at best they're ahead, but only slightly. I'd have

1. Broncos
2. Manly (only very slightly behind)
3. Sharks (the Gallen factor)
4. Rabbitohs (on paper - injuries and performances need some work)
5. Tigers (Ellis + solid backups)
6. Cowboys (depth puts us up there IMO)
7. Warriors (probably should be higher if Brown, Mannering and Mateo were fulltime there)
8. Titans (still solid, but slipping. Cases for any number of teams)

Manlys starting 3 is the best by far. Broncos have a bit more depth but there not in Manlys league.

Without even reading, Broncos and Warriors are the best.

Parramatta have potential ability in Horo, Lasalo, O'Hanlon, Maitua (not young, but has been out for a long time). But Hindy is past it as an attacker, and Smith offers very little punch with the ball.

Gallen is his own back row.

I also know he particularly hates the Dragons first hand, which is cool and makes the derby better. I could tell that he wanted me dead in my Saints jersey when he was going down the tunnel at Jubilee as I bravely threw the forks at him through the fence. Dragons won that day.

Gallen is a f**king awesome footballer and one of my favourite NSW player. (I'm sure my Snorks hatred will regenerate if they aren't so pitiful this year. )

My Snork love is freaking myself out because I would love to see a big year from Tagataese as well.

I think what it boils down to is a decent derby and wanting to see good players go well.

Go Saints!!

did you not read the other 4-5 people say the same thing. grow up.

And at least that many have said Manly are in front.

I'd have Manly at the top, maybe because of my bias, but it certainly wouldn't be by much. There are at least 6-7 VERY high quality back rows. The only reason I would have Manly in front is not because they are individually better but because they offer so much variety. Tony Williams is a hard straight runner that attracts defenders and he has an ability to get sneaky offloads away (also a bit of playmaking as shown when he played 5/8 in a premiership winning QLD Cup side), Watmough has better footwork than most 2nd rowers and seems to find gaps where there aren't any (though he has terrible hands) and Glenn Stewart is a playmaker that stops oppositions from putting so much pressure on the halves. Add Buhrer on the bench who is built very much in the Steve Menzies mold and I'd say it's the most complete back row in the comp.
