1. Manly
2. Broncos
3. Tigers
4. Sharks

I think these rankings are fair enough for the start of the 2012 season. It could all change though.
1; Manly 2010 backrow with Dessies guidance. I doubt they will fire in 012
2; Bronco's with lockeyer giving them good service. 012 will be a lot harder.
3; Tigers have recruited well. They should improve
4; Roosters even with injuries and dismissals, proved their whole pack will be a force in 012 .
5; Sharks Carney will give their backrowers good service in 2012.
6; Cowboys not much has changed

15; Titans are crap
16; Dogs even worse

It was his fourth season this year, granted his first full season in the backrow but he's had defensive issues his whole career. You'd think we would've sign signs of it improving by now if it was going to.

Besides we're rating the backrows on what they've shown to date and I've yet to see him put in a starting performance where he pulled his weight in defence or even show the potential to. People get way too caught up in his strong runs, the roles Gulavou & Rodney have played over the last few years for Manly have gone so unnoticed yet been so far more important.

Completely agree, this is why i'd take Broncos ahead of Manly.

Broncos are pretty similar as in i'd take thaiday vs watmough. i'd say glenn is a better prospect then tony williams overall, glenn has shown he is a overrall footballer, great attacking option and awesome in defense, trex misses as many tackles as he makes.

parker and stewart is the only position id give to manly in the backrow and even then parker is still rock solid, just no where near as good in attack, but kicks goals like a weapon.

T Rex is a better ball player than Glenn will ever be, banana kicks massive offloads the guy has it all. Anyway you'll love the music in this clip Doggiesbro.

Great Vid Cletus :) Awesome Highlight real.

The 2 best bits Hit on Eastwood and a real showcase of power and skill was his T-Rex brushing aside the best defensive fullback in the game slater (this was after his momentum was slowed) Scary ass prospect. An absolute monster. T Rex > Glenn any day of the week.
I also love how respectful of Little Preston he was coulda face slammed him but he was so gentle and respectful you know that is quality when such manners is shown in the middle of a war. (I find it really hard to keep the fires of Hate burning vs some teams Ie the Bronco's and SEagles so many awesome genuine nice guy players who I can't hate :( )

11 Hindmarsh
12 Smith
13 Maitua

15 Horo/Lasalo/Shackleton

Nowhere near the best but not the worst either, defensively very strong and Maitua is a talent.
Aside from Maitua, there is little to no real threat in attack.

Most will say he is past it but you never know how a player can go, especially if it ends up being his last year.

People say he is past it and he turns around and makes try saver after try saver that no other forward would have.

I can't really separate Manly and Broncos starting three, Glenn Stewart is te better lock, Thaiday is the better 2nd rower, T-Rex is a better attacking weapon than Alex Glenn, but the young Bronco is a much better defender.

When it comes to the bench, the Broncos take it imo, because there's no way Galuvao and Buhrer match Gillett and Te'o.

Tigers, Warriors, Sharks and Titans are the next best, but there's hardly a bad backrow in the comp.

He's going to be an incredible player in a few years. I'm glad we let Maria Hargreaves go to keep him, he's got the best fend I've ever seen. I love the hit on Sims I think it is at 1.35. Absolutely nails him.

I'm not even sure if this is a serious post, you've got one of the best ball playing backrowers in the comp and you think some impact player is better despite Stewart doing it consistently for years and on the biggest stages.

Tony Williams is only valuable when his team is on top and controlling the ruck... when it's a tight or big game he's a liability because he doesn't make enough tackles and misses too many. Take the Grand final for example.. 12 tackles, 5 ineffective, 1 missed in 47 minutes. That's so so so shit for a backrower.

His performance the week before against Brisbane wasn't much better either, in fact worse. 80 minutes, 13 tackles, 2 ineffective, 5 missed. He's a powerful player lucky to play in such a good side full of workers. He would've been found out in most other teams this year.

Roosters in 2010 made the grand final with a backrow of:
11. Anasta
12. Aubusson
13. Myles/Nuuausala

Now in 2012 we will have
11. Guerra (an upgrade from Anasta)
12. Aubusson
13. Cordner (better than Myles)/Nuuausala

The backrow with the most potential and will be the most underrated. The Tigers one will be the most overrated. Blair is lazy as. Nobody expects anything from the dogs

You're right that he did benefit from players like Gulavou and Rodney. But you'd be surprised with some of the things he has done in the last couple of years, he has a lot of skill for a massive unit. I wouldn't read too much into the stats either because players avoid him if they can so he doesn't make as many tackles.

i'm going to have to go with Doggiesbro (and it pains me) but i think the Dogs have a better back row imo.

And with Hasler there they have a few promising seasons ahead of them.

But i still think Josh Morris isn't a great player (had to say it haha)

Titans will improve, unlike the roosters, not that they have far to fall.

You sir are a bit of a twat, aren't you?

The Roosters back row might not have the big names in there and losing Nate Myles has left it decidedly worse off than it was last year, but it's not the worst back row in the comp.

Second rowers at the Roosters could possibly include (some players named can also play other positions)

Jared Warea Hargreaves
Brad Takairangi
Aiden Guerra
Frank Paul Nuuausala
Mitchell Aubusson
Tom Symonds
Braith Anasta
Boyd Cordner
Anthony Cherrington

That's a second row that contains some power, great mobility and most importantly youth. It may not be the best 2nd row in the comp this year, but it wont disgrace itself and will only improve.

Stop knocking others and talking up the Bulldogs at every opportunity. You may not realise this, but other clubs are capable of doing good things and the Bulldogs are capable of getting things wrong. Not every player who plays for certain clubs is shite and not every player who plays for the Bulldogs is amazing.

Its great you love your club - but carrying on like a complete f**king knob end all the time does more to damage them than anything else.
