Who to cheer for?

I think I'll go Manly, but could easily see them losing week 1.

Maybe the Roosters?

I actually wouldn't mind the Panthers winning again, to be honest. Bit boring though

I always go for the underdog. Which would be the Phins if they made it.
Barring them the Bulldogs. Lets face it, neither have a snowballs chance in hell with the Refs padding the narrative for the big clubs with unconscious bias always going to the big fish on fifty fifties.

I would have gone for the Bulldogs but wasn't a fan of how our games against them this year went.

Storm, Roosters, Manly, Dolphins, Penrith. Any of those. Not Dogs or Cowboys. Not really the Sharks either. Raiders if they were to usurp the Dolphins.

Fins the only team i would support cause i enjoy watching the Hammer run, but even thats a struggle after that jammy Sean O'Sullivan drop goal... and too many ex Warriors on the team that phoned it in when they played here.

So nah, cant support anyone. 4peat Panthers for historical purposes only.

Yeah Panthers for me just for the milestone and Fish factor. Of the others I either loathe them (Storm, Roosters) or they just frankly don’t deserve it because they’ve. been ordinary for most of the year.
Guess I wouldn’t mind seeing the Cows give it a tilt, or Manly if Tommy Turbo can miraculously stay fit and carry them to a premiership- I feel like he deserves it.

Honestly probably the Storm. I get why people hate them but for me, they deserve it the most - both this year and from a historical perspective i.e. they haven't really won as many premierships as they should have to reflect 20-odd years of excellence.

I definitely live in opposite world though because I can't stand the Panthers but don't mind the teams that everyone else hates - Storm, Broncos (obviously not a factor this year), Roosters. I just find this Panthers team immensely boring, they don't have a single player who excites me from a neutral supporter's perspective. I wasn't a fan of Cleary's style when he coached here and I guess this is an extension of that.

Roosters, Melbourne, and Penrith I never like as they are constantly (well almost) a cut above. I've never liked the Sharks, Newcastle, or Bulldogs for unknown reasons.

So that leaves the Cows and Manly, but quite halfheartedly (i was really hoping the Dolphins would make it).

Would be good to see Beaver's Headgear get the stoke on.

I'd just say it's easier to be consistently excellent if for a chunk of of that preiod you flagrantly disregard the rules...

I'll go with the Cowboys, been up and down and like us only managed to string max 3 games in a row all year, but actually managed to score a bunch of points when they did win (and got some scores put on them too, just less than the wins!).
Given they're on a 3-win streak now doesn't bode well for first week, but I believe.... (edited dumb comment about going on a streak after losing first game, oopsy )

Also saw a stat that they have the highest percentage of wins against current top 8 (70%, with next few clubs on 67%) so that's also interesting.

And while it would be sad knowing they'd have 2/4 grand final wins compared to our 0/2 in the same period of existence, I just can't get behind any of the dumb NSW (and Melbourne) clubs that make up the rest of the 8.

Oh for sure (for what it's worth I'm disregarding 2007 and 2009 when I say that they haven't won many premierships).

I still think that what Melbourne have continued to do for the 15 years since is very impressive, and they haven't always had the sort of stacked squads they did when they were cheating.
