Any ODI batting line up that has both Elliott and Vettori in it's top 6 is kidding itself. "Let me be captain, coach, selector, and I'll make it all good". BS. Vettori's dictatorship is a farce.

Maybe this flogging by the Bangas is the first step to eradicate Vettori's political power. Sort of like you hope North get runs but then wouldn't mind if he didn't so he could face the ax, maybe this will stop his power craze.

Forget the Greatbatch scheme of having a bloke there just to manage things, get a proper coach in there.

What a farce.

Way too much pressure on a fickle top order- if the top 4 don't fire (and they seldom do) then we are relying on Elliot, Vettori and Shanan Stewart.

Shanan Stewart????

Once again Bangladesh have proven too strong for New Zealand. Despite the kiwis being comfortably beaten by a stronger opponent, I expect them to take a lot out of not only this game but the series.

I really don't get it either...

Elliott is so ordinary it's not funny... yes, he's done ok in ODIs, but for mine if he doesn't bowl he doesn't make the team... he's half arsed... a chalf decent first class cricketer, that's it

You can add Stewart to that list... FFS, why not Williamson... he's clearly the best talent we've had in a long while, give him the chance, he appeals as the sort that even if he struggles will get through it...

At least if we have a top 6 that looks something like Ryder, McCullum, Guptill, Taylor, Williamson and perhaps Watling (but there has to be someone better) - even when they're struggling and we lose we can say, well they have substantial talent with the bat...

How many times can they say "the batting was disappointing" and then continue with the same numpties...

Vetorri is a very effective 7 or 8 in any cricket... if we don't have better top 6 options, then things are really dire...

Elliott is the new Hamish Marshall. Fluked a decent run over about 18 months and will remain in the mix for another couple of years because of it.

I think we're in trouble of becoming a third tier cricket nation. Our batsmen are struggling but even worse is that bowling attack. Where are the wicket takers going to come from cos we have none at the moment.

Need a genuine express pace bowler. Someone like dare I say it Bond, imagine someone ripping in at 145 plus with a bit of swing back into these Bangladeshi batsmen.

That would be nice... but at the end of the day we need to score runs to give the bowlers a chance...

Hopefully someone at immigration decides Elliott is an overstayer and that solves one problem...

Things look pretty grim though... I don't see many reasons to be positive - although chucking Williamson into the middle order with Taylor is one
