If he does go and carves them up, he may be hard to hold onto against Rugby salaries.

It's got to be unclear, which is why Barba is trying it on. Is he allowed to earn money in his suspension? What if it's tennis? Cricket? Labourer?

Lets hope he doesn't go.

The NRL said today that Ben Barba's 12-match ban will not begin until he has completed any overseas sporting commitments.

CEO Todd Greenberg said the NRL believed a suspended player should serve time out from playing – anywhere.

"Ben does not have a registered contract with the NRL so he is free to make a decision to play in a different code with a new club," Mr Greenberg said.

"But the NRL will not consider any contract for registration until he has completed his contract with other sports.

"The match suspension he needs to serve will only begin after he has completed his playing commitments elsewhere."

Mr Greenberg said his primary concern was whether appropriate action was being taken to improve Barba's life off the field.

"We have been working closely with the Sharks on ensuring he has access to appropriate courses and programs as part of his rehabilitation," Mr Greenberg said.

"We have just given him approval to train individually at the club and be part of the Shark's community programs.

"That agreement meant he also had access to the club's welfare and education support services.

"If that commitment has changed then it will be taken into account when we consider whether his contract should be registered."

Well then he needs to decide between Cronulla or Rugby because he can't have either. And apparently has signed contracts for both.

I do not like his manager Gavin Orr and I cringe every time I hear a player of ours connected with him.

Gavin Orr in my opinion is all about the $ and not always what is best for his client.

No decent manager would think Ben Barba going to France is the best thing for Ben Barba.

It's all about Gavin Orr trying to look clever and seal another deal.

Extra money however is not what Ben Barba needs right now.

Orr is a weasel.

Clearly he can only serve his suspension if he is registered with the NRL, the NRL won't allow him to play a rival code whilst he's registered. If he isn't registered with the NRL he can do whatever he likes but that suspension will be there waiting for him if he returns to the NRL. Me thinks Barba has had some poor advice.

Barba's children are young what they need is a stable environment going to School being with their friends, I can't believe he suddenly just wants to go to France who's advising him.
You've already mentioned him previously, the most likely culprit.
