You cannot replace a player of Hayne's level just like that.
i know you can't im not insane, but we can't just rely on hayne either... hayne finally got a crack at fullback and he's carrer went from strength to strenght i know he was already a good player before hand but we all agree he got better!, who knows what talented young kid is waiting in the wings

p.s wish we kept humble:crazy:

No u can't replace him but if he is out for an extended period we have a player who has served a good amount of time at the back in Burt. He and sandow can be deadly together too

Penrith Panthers 26
(Travis Burns 2, Michael Gordon, Kevin Kingston, David Simmons Tries; Michael Gordon 3/3, Luke Walsh 0/2 Goals)
Defeated
Parramatta Eels 10
(Ken Sio, Chris Sandow Tries; Luke Burt 1/1 Chris Sandow 0/1 Goal)
Michael Gordon produced 40 minutes of scintillating football at fullback as the Penrith Panthers defeated the Parramatta Eels in their NRL trial in Penrith tonight.
Gordon scored one try and kicked three from three with the boot in a performance that pleased coach Ivan Cleary enough to leave Gordon on the bench in the second half.
Penrith dominated field position in the opening half but it was the Eels who opened the scoring through winger Ken Sio who scored after some great leadup work from Luke Burt, Jarryd Hayne and Chris Sandow.
Sandow had first crack at the goalkicking job but missed the shot from wide out.
The Panthers found their rhythm in the 17th minute when Travis Burns scored from dummy half following a run from Tim Grant, who was only denied by a classic covering tackle by Hayne.
Shortly after Sam McKendry and Hayne exchanged pleasentries but it was a scything run from Gordon that brought the crowd alive.
He beat Justin Horo and Hayne with two huge right foot steps and converted his own try from right in front and the Panthers had a 12-4 lead.
Penrith halfback Luke Walsh's kicking game was super all night and it produced a second try to Burns in the 37th minute, seeing Penrith to the break with a 18-4 advantage.

A possible leg injury to Parramatta prop Tim Mannah in the second half was the only notable moment leading up to Chris Sandow's 62nd minute try from a Hayne bomb that made it 18-10.
But that was as close as Parramatta would get.
Blake Austin produced some quality to send Kevin Kingston over, then David Simmons finished the game with a try of his own and the Panthers had run out 26-10 victors.
Ben Smith and Mannah are the only injuries to report so far.
Best for the Panthers were Gordon, Grant, Walsh, Burns, Austin and Ciraldo, while the Eels were well served by Hayne, Burt and Sio http://www.parraeels.com.au/default...=47501&title=nrl-trial-report-eels-v-panthers
