Condolences on your injuries and hope that your players recover quickly. Always had a soft spot for Parra, from a time when I used to support them as a kid.

Who was the 24 that came on when Hayne went off?

And who was the 23 for NYC who had the wrong jersey on?

And I knew Sandow was small, but watching him stand next to that ball boy when he was taking the conversion for our first try made him look f**king tiny.

Just got home from the game. For the record the Panthers will definitely not win the wooden spoon, will most likely not make the eight but will be more competitive than recent seasons.

Providing your injuries from tonight are not too serious, and I suspect neither are Mannah nor Hayne are season ending, the result means nothing.

This was a low intensity trial. We may take more from it because we finished in front on the scoreboard but it was a trial nothing more nothing less.

Its only a trial but Just a little wrap up from last night:

The Good:
We started pretty good actually and scored a great try set up through Hayne and Burt.
We seemed to have penrith under control. Benny Roberts made a nice little break early on as well it would have been 10 nil Hayne caught the pass.

The Bad:
After the 20 min mark our intensity dropped and let the panthers off load. penalties were given away and we had no ball for ages. Penrith scored a great try through Gordon etc etc.
Was really dissapointed in Horo, tautai, Morgan, Keating, Sandow. Morgan didnt look good out there at all. He has to develop something cause he just makes it to easy to get tackled.
It's only a trial but we have a lot to work on. No cohesion and we looked bunched several times.

The Ugly
The injuries are absolutely devestating to two of our best players. Especially Hayne!!
Another ugly thing was some of the Penrith supporters. I don't like to use the words Bogan and trailer trash but for special occasions. The amount of absolute buck tooth bogan Penrith supporters there yesterday was amazing. You really had to see it to believe it, it was Boganville heaven at its very best. It's a clear warning to all that you should not have sex with cousins or sisters as you'll end up with Panthers fans.

I thought Roberts went well last night. A nice break early on to nearly put hayne away, had some good kicks and was strong in defence. When he tries to overplay his hand he stuffs up. When he just does his little thing over on the left he goes well. Looking forward to him being out there with his mates Reni and Willie.

Roberts defence is terrible! He gets stood up way too easily for my liking.

PARRAMATTA stars Jarryd Hayne and Tim Mannah are both likely to miss the first-round clash with Brisbane after suffering suspected knee cartilage damage in last night's 26-10 trial loss against Penrith.
Prop Mannah was able to walk off the field after being injured 10 minutes into the second half at Centrebet Stadium. It looked as though the damage might have been worse for Hayne when he had to be helped off by two trainers after being hurt in the 70th minute, but Eels coach Stephen Kearney said afterwards the pair had similar injuries.
''Jarryd and Tim will have scans tomorrow, but hopefully it's just a bit of cartilage damage in each case,'' he said.
Advertisement: Story continues below
''That's what the doctor thinks, after having a look at them. It depends on the exact damage, but it's looking like two to three weeks out for both. Hopefully, they won't require surgery, but you would have to think they're very doubtful for the first round.''
Parramatta play Brisbane in the opening round at Parramatta Stadium on March 2, but, while that game is likely to come too soon, both Hayne and Mannah could be back for the second round, even if they have to undergo arthroscopies.
After coming off and receiving treatment, Hayne said he was feeling optimistic that the injury was only minor.
''I'm obviously sore. It went numb straight away, but I've iced it over the last 20 minutes and it's sort of come good,'' Hayne said.
''At the moment it's just a bit of cartilage, I think, so I'll get some scans tomorrow. It doesn't feel the best, but it's not too bad. I can just walk on it now. Hopefully, the scans are good.''
The news was all good for the Panthers, who built on last week's strong performance in an 18-18 draw with Newcastle. Michael Gordon appears to have won the battle for the fullback spot going into the competition proper, after playing strongly in the first half. Lachlan Coote played fullback for the Panthers in the second half, but couldn't match Gordon's performance.
Still, coach Ivan Cleary was giving nothing away when asked who had clinched the No.1 jumper, saying it was still a contest between Gordon and Coote at this stage.
Cleary was understandably pleased with the display from his team, saying: ''You want to keep improving and that's what we did tonight. We built on what we did last week against the Knights.''
The Eels looked tremendous early on and their fans would have been delighted by the interaction of superstar Hayne and newly arrived halfback Chris Sandow in the lead-up to the opening try of the match in the seventh minute.
Sandow found Hayne, and he then found winger Luke Burt roving infield. Burt negotiated some defensive traffic before grubber-kicking to the corner for a try for fellow winger Ken Sio.
But from 4-0 ahead the Eels fell to 18-4 down by half-time. The Panthers opened the second half the way they had finished the first, in attack, but failed to capitalise on a couple of early opportunities.
Eventually, the Eels began to find a bit of form again, but it wasn't until the 62nd minute that they finally came up with their second try, Sandow sliding over after making a good pick-up when a ball had gone to ground from a bomb.
Burt's conversion cut the deficit to eight points, but the Panthers then came back with two tries in the last 10 minutes to win the match comfortably.
Parramatta still have a lot of work to do between now and the opening round. They have lacked understanding in both of their trial games.

Morgan- very dissapointing watching him last night..doesnt run hard, doesnt contest bombs also doesnt hit hard in defence.

Esi Tonga- much better game than last week, stayed in line and had some good solid tackles, also is a strong runner of the ball.

J.Paulo deserves to take Horos spot....I think he was best on field last night great defence and good strong runs,

Ben Roberts had some fine touches on him and imo with more game time under his belt he will be a great buy for us.

K.Sio is in the same boat, showed good footwork with first try and unlucky to score another, strong hit ups but still defence is his downfall more game time under his belt will only help his confidence in defence.

Horo- WTF is wrong with him lately???? Weak runs, weak defence, cant hold a ball, and very lazy offloads that find no one but the grass!!!

All in all when we had the ball last night in penriths half we looked sharp and threatening, some dud calls from the refs, stupid penalties and alot of dropped ball didn help our cause, anyway I liked what i saw last night, I think will be right.

I didn't see any significant improvement over last year. Bit more strike power but nothing of note. Just a trial, and just one match. See how the season goes.

Pushing a barrow much?

Morgan is the kind of player who doesn't stand out whereas Tonga is rocks and diamonds. There's nothing between them.

It's like kornstar downplaying anything Roberts does well because he wants Hayne to wear 6.
