Gray isnt small, he is listed the same size (1kg heavier) than Walker and he handles the big time with ease.

Would of been just against the big Warriors forward then. only seen him play nines? and nsw cup once.

Warriors did have sione lousi playing centre.

Like walker seemed sharp on his feet.

Taukafa was the best of the backs yesterday from the reports I have seen even though Sam scored 2 tries he made a few errors and Taukafa is most likely to be called up to first grade out of norths.I think Tulsa is injured as he was a late withdrawl from holden cup on friday.

Thanks. Taukafa could play wing in 1st grade.

Is Taukafa playing fullback for Bears?

Sam will be right, he's still developing.

Hoping Gray can make the step up this week.
Don't think I can sit through another game with the Reddy/Millard combination. Way too nerve racking.

i think reddy would be a bit better in the centres. he wouldnt have to defuse as many bombs and he has some size. it will be so much better when walker and auva'a is back though

Agreed Alien.

Reddy is a better centre than what Millard is.

Thanks for that and yeah in origin period Sam may get a couple of games in 1st grade to see how he goes and if he's ready for that next step.

God damn it :x

Any news on the Souths boys?
Taukafa and Sorensen went off injured, but newtown did have a lot of guys that have played 1st grade like Nathan Gardner,Mitch Brown,Blake Ayshford,Sam Tagatese,Jason Bukuya and Tinirau Arona so the bears were up against it by the sounds of it.

5 of the 6 tries were scored by Newtown by backs between 5/8 & the wings--maybe that says something about Gray & Manu!!??

That's some good info Doyen.

Yep that tells us that Gray and Manuleleau still probably need to work on their defence before playing first grade.

Ed Murphy who broke his foot in pre season and has returned from injury probably needs to tighten his defence up too. We signed Murphy as a depth signing from the Dogs NSW Cup Side. Murphy hasn't played first grade yet. (He's a centre)

Change to Souths and Norths Coaching Structure

Rabbitohs Media Release

The South Sydney Rabbitohs and the North Sydney Bears have made a change to its coaching structure with Ben Gardiner moving into the position as Head Coach of the North Sydney Bears’ NSW Cup team, following the departure of Wayne Lambkin.
Mr Lambkin has been the Coach of the Bears for the past nine seasons, taking the Club to a NSW Cup Grand Final in 2007 and numerous finals appearances in his time with the Club, but the Rabbitohs and Bears have decided to go in a new direction with its coaching and development structure from this point forward.
The Rabbitohs’ under 20s side will now be coached by Troy Finch, who has been the Assistant Coach of the South Sydney Holden Cup side for the past three seasons.
Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire said: “Firstly I’d like to thank Wayne for his contribution over the years and we wish him all the best for the future.
“We’ve decided as a group to change the direction around our development pathways and we’re pleased to be able to give a young, up-and-coming Coach like Ben Gardiner a chance to work with both Clubs collectively through the NSW Cup team.
“Ben has done a great job with our under 20s side in recent seasons and deserves the chance to step up and guide the Bears at the State Cup level.
“Troy now gets an opportunity to take the reins of the under 20s side and we’re very confident that he will do a great job.”
North Sydney Bears General Manager Greg Florimo said: “'Wayne has been an integral part of the Bears over the past nine seasons, giving wonderful service to the club and providing support and guidance to those budding NRL players that he has coached. We wish him well with his future endeavours.
“We’re looking forward to forging a new pathway with the Rabbitohs and forming closer links with Souths, giving our players a clearer pathway to the NRL.
“We’re looking forward to having Ben guide our players and having him work very closely with Michael Maguire and his coaching staff at the Rabbitohs to help ensure the opportunities for North Sydney players to play NRL are in place.”
