Had four pines pale ale last night, thought it was quite nice, similar to the Sierra Nevada but not quite as fruity tasting.

I noticed for the first time that they had Balmain brewing pale ales also, have read good thing about that in this thread so will get them next.

The Balmain Pale Ale is a cracker, the Pilsener is rubbish. If you find their Dark Ale though, it is the pick of the lot. It is only available on tap.

Will have a closer look next time I'm there.. There were two varieties of them but I didn't take much notice.. It was a first choice, they were having some promotion on the steam rail range.

Thoughts on those?

Haven't tried the angry man range yet either so am tossing up between them and the steam rail range after the Balmain brewing..

I'm not confident of finding Balmain brewing on tap in Brisbane.

My barber gives you a beer while you're in the chair so I had one of those handed to me this morning... 1130 getting a hair cut and a neck shave. My barber is pretty easy on the eye as well. Bliss.

Not as sweet as other pale ales I have had but enjoyable none the less.

Had 4 Balmain Pales last night. Nice, but a different taste to most pales. I thought it was more like the taste of a few amber ales I have had rather than a pale.

Definitely a nice beer though.

Yeah. It's pretty amazeballs even though its not its actually quite a common thing. A number of places down here do it. Rockit Barber down the road from my office on Collins Street is where I used to go and is good for a getaway on a stressful day. They do it. At the moment I go to Lords of The North on High street Thornbury.

I'm a little hard pressed to suggest where you would go for a similar experience in Sydney though. My barber was telling me about a place she'd seen in Surrey Hills but the name escapes me. It's essentially anold 1940s art deco beauty parlour/old school barber.

They def don't provide beer but I know of a couple great places in Brisbane to get a decent old school shave. Feels good man.

Been drinking a bit of itchy green pants by Matilda bay. Probably the best beer I've tried of theres.

Probably sits between coopers pale and sparkling ales in style and taste, I really enjoy it.

There pub in freo is a cracker, brew all there own beers.

Would much prefer to drink there then little creatures

The Steam Rail pale and Amber are good but the Golden is a little sub par

Good value for around $15 a six pack, at least they are at my local
