Spent the night at Bavarian Bier Cafe with some mates. Franziskaner was my choice of the lot.

If you're in Brisbane definitely a great place to knock back a quality brew or two

I can agree with that. A tad pricey, but Franziskaaner goes down a treat. Had one at my mate's place last night.

Dropped in at my barber for a new fade last week and had a really nice American Pale Ale in the chair... Think it was a five crows or five vultures. Someone here might know the name. Not as sweet as other pale ales I have had.

In any case; 4 more weeks before im due for a haircut so will have to see what they have next time. They have better beer than the barber I used to go to that's for sure!

Anyone been to the Archive Beer Boutique in west end Brisbane?

Recommend the effort getting over there?

If you go later than 6pm it's full of hipsters but they have some quality craft beer on tap. Nothing too exotic, but everything tastes better on tap

Having a six pack of Endeavour Hop Growers vintage ale. A little bit of a let down but still nice. I was hoping it'd be hoppier

Whats the worth a 6 pack?

I think $18 a six pack. Mid range these days, beer prices are f**ked

Not a fan of all those fancy beers
Just give me a schooner of VB and I'm happy

Hard to go back and drink mass produced beers when you work with the stuff...I'm a Reschs/Boags Draught fan when at the pub having a good session though. But these days when VB is $15 a six pack, might as well pay the extra few bucks for some flavour IMO. Also VB is technically not beer :p

What is VB if not a beer? Holy water

Nah I don't like it THAT much lol

Maybe I just have bad luck when I try random or foreign beers..don't seem to like any of them so far

Hehe. Just a little thing I like to bring up when some of the footy boys rag on those of us who drink something other than VB/MB/Carlton. Technically beer is made from water, hops, yeast, and barley. VB doesn't use hops, so it's not "technically" beer.

Gotta be careful with the imports sometimes...half the merkins are brewed in QLD!

If you are in the NE of the states try and track down Dogfish head '120 minute IPA' or DuClaws 'repent'. Hoppy to the point of insanity and about 15% abv to boot.

Also, the brewery a block away from me is putting on a firkin of cask conditioned (for 8 months) brown ale called 'Festivus' in a couple of weeks. It won't last long and I'm cashing in all my brownie points with Mrs SMBN to be there.
