From memory I was paying $6 in Hamilton last time I was there (memory is a tad hazy though considering I was already drunk when I got to the pub), and considering standard beer in NZ is 4% abv you're getting screwed on tap.

Have any of you peeps been to Brothers Beer in Auckland? Looking for a good place to drink good beer after the nines, it definitely looks good.

Picked up another cheap case of Asahi 1L cans....while cans are absolutely an inferior way to drink beer, it's negated by the size. Plus the Asahi cans seem to be made out of different aluminium, they taste way better than almost every other can

Budweiser in the us has aluminum bottles, the beer tastes pretty good out of them, better than the thin cans. The asahi cans are the same material I'm pretty sure.

Being on a student diet, I went for the cheapest beer they had at Dan's. Picked up a case of Oettinger for $32. Not bad when my other options were likely to be Carlton Mid or XXXX.

Balmain Brewing Summer Ale. Bottle says it has a dry finish, but to me it's a sweet honeyed end. Another very drinkable beer, though no more than the 4 pack it comes in.
Had a couple of schooners of that when I was at the Dry Dock Hotel a couple of weeks ago, was pretty drinkable I thought.

Getting through some crownies lately, leftover from a family do. Pretty average beer but the price is right.

Oh no, I'm just describing the same vomit from the other night. Boozy spews are few and far between with me.

Emerson's 1812 IPA. Not a bad drink, piney and grassy taste and smell.

Murphy's Irish Stout. Quite good, better than Guinness.

Brothers Beer Golden Ale. Tasted like honey and malt. Sweet. Good beer.

Yeastie Boys Sun before the Darkness. Holy f**k this was good. Thick like syrup, very sweet with a ton of flower smell. Like nothing I've had before.
