Need lots of lime in Sol I reckon, not great otherwise.

Had a selection of beers on Christmas that I can't quite remember. I do remember the wicked elf Porter was pretty decent, as well as a can of Punk IPA that was absolutely gorgeous. Had St Peter's Ruby Red Ale, wasn't too bad, was missing something though.

I refuse to put lime in beer....

Sol is the main competitor to Corona in Mexico. It is what it is - mass produced lager.

But let's put it into comparison. You live in Germany (and probably love the Nazis). Your Aunt buys you a mixed 10 pack of international beers, and for the first time ever you drink XXXX Bitter. What would your opinion of Australian beer be?

Well considering I drink either Xxxx bitter or boags draught as my stock beer id probably be impressed.

But besides that I see your point! ;-)

Some people are strange. Do they think that breweries store their stock in a cool room and that beer is transported in refrigerated trucks?
The discerning locals in Mt. Hagen (PNG) let their SP's warm-up to room temperature, much to the dismay of the hotel staff who spend an inordinant amount of effort to keep it chilled. No such problem on the Mekeo Coast though where ice is non-existant but SP is plentiful.

I must admit that life in Nanjing improved dramatically when Metro introduced Fourex heavies to the local market. My Chinese became quite 'fluid'.

This is likely a question to be met with derision and contempt, but is there such thing as a beer that is both good and low in calories?

Dieting is proving hard when I'm accommodating my daily beer or two.

Short answer - no. There are some better options in that category though. I always thought Boag's Blonde was under rated. Burleigh Brewing do a "no carb" beer which I got through a lot of while I lived in Qld.

These. No carb, pretty sure the only calories are from the booze itself, which your metabolism prioritizes. I drank three cartons in a week on a pretty strict protein diet, lost a couple of kilos, so they are legit.

Tastes really light and fizzy, there isn't much substance to them. Maybe sort of between a bud and corona? Goes down pretty well.

Just made a batch of Porter today, hoping to hit the 7% mark, should be pretty tasty.

Amstel is no carb I believe. Dutch beer, fairly generic but perfectly drinkable

I'm slowly making my way back through Archer from episode one. Two episodes into season two atm and loving it.

I tried the Burleigh Big Head the other day and wasn't a fan. It would probably go down ok on a hot day but I found it too fizzy which I didn't enjoy.

I reckon Hahn Super Dry is decent for a low carb beer.

Dad bought some Miller Chill today. Not the best beer I've ever had by any stretch, but low calorie and goes down alright when it's hot out and you've got them in the floating pool cooler.

Nz has some good beers at present. Loved Macs great white, but also enjoyed a few hop federation beers especially the pale ale, and some others around Nelson way
