Mate, I’m not sure I am with you on this one.
  • I can’t see Sponsors jumping on board in 2021 for Bellamy’s arrival in 2023.
  • I don’t believe that Craig Fitzgibbon currently has the reputation to pull $4M sponsorship.
  • If we were to win it next year (I would love it!) we wouldn’t need Bellamy at all.
My thinking was that Bellamy was secured and they asked him “Who do you want?” From that conversation, Fitzgibbon was appointed and Ciraldo identified.

I would have seen Will Chambers as a Bellamy addition, not a Cronulla signing.

Based on the 6 months negotiation, I even thought McInnes May have been a Bellamy signing as well.

Well sounds like he wasn’t secured.

I just dont see where fitz would sit in that.
From 2IC under Robinson to 2IC under bellyache. What is he - hugh hefner?
Nothing less than being under the best?
Might as well just have stayed with morris.

And to be honest l want to see what fitzy can do. He could be the next robbo.
The next bellamy.
These guys stepped out of shadows - took their first gig and have set themselves apart from the rest.
I want to see what he can do.
Im genuinely excited to have this guy. At the moment he is attracting only positive media

Fitz ? Well he's here apparently ... But doesnt he have some clauses in his contract too ???. So I hope hes good now... Bellamy ? Has dicked us around for how long now ? And people on here whining about players not jumping on board at a weeks notice. Anyway dont hear anything much about Wayne Bennets plans for nek yr . Any chance he would be a Plan B. He is a coach who has been through changes of clubs , changes of rules , etc , Much more experience than Bellamy in coming in and sorting things out quickly ... Wouldnt trust him further than I could kick him , but if his goals are the same as yours I reckon hes better bet than bellamy by a long shot.

If it’s true we lost out here I can live with it. We f**ken gave it everything

My thoughts are completely dependent on any potential fallout or loss for the Club.

If we secured sponsorship on the proviso Bellamy was coming to the Sharks, this will be catastrophic if sponsors were to walk away and it became public knowledge. In fact, I don’t think Dino and the Board would survive.

I also note that it was reported that Dino was shocked at the fierce nature of Rugby League media.

To use my Mate Frank Discussions analogy “I hope we haven’t gambled the house to win the waterfront”.

Please let me say this, if Bellamy doesn’t come to Cronulla it’s not the end of the world. It could be though if every decision made was based on him overseeing the whole Club.

That article is also now being used by fox sports as gospel, but none of the Tele NRL reporters have backed it yet.
If it's true, we can take solace in the fact that clown of all clowns, Philip B Rothfield, didn't get the scoop he has been trying to get for 6 months.

I’m confident he’s still coming.

You don’t just start ordering changes at a new club and then don’t go.

yeah I’ve seen, but their reports are all directly saying “the smh is reporting..” anyway he probably will stay at the storm, I’m just trying to live in that little bit of hope still. :joy:

Yep and I’m still hoping for a threesome with Anna Kornakova and Elle McPherson.....wonder how those two are looking these days?

That's the rumour though right, that he's the one who wanted Fitzgibbon and Ciraldo etc, but is it actually true ?

And if the Sharks are ringing in all these changes and he's not signed well that's pretty dumb. We're alot of things but I don't think we're doing anything till it's signed on the dotted line.

Timing of the story is a little off to me.
If he is coming to us I’d assume it would be announced a couple of days max after we play them, never before that’s not a Bellamy thing. And not another leak before that.
To have nothing in the media for weeks now story leaking has him staying just days out doesn’t fit to me.
I’m probably wrong and living in hope.

Well he also could have put the Papa signing into meaning Bellamy staying.
He could be trying the old flush trick, say something to flush out the truth, or,
He could actually have some one in their organisation who has told him.
I would say that Bellamy himself would.not have wanted it known until after this game each way.

That just doesn't line up.

Why would a sponsor hand over cash because of a deal that is not done? We may have pitched them on a vision of where we wanted to go that included someone like Bellamy but we couldn't close it. The vision is what we could have sold, the process, the ambition not always the outcome.

I have no doubt Craig offered his thoughts on the roster and even the coach. But that is free consulting. He pushed Chambers to us for a reason.
