Throw in the sink , make Storm pay him huge dollars.

Frk no! They might get smart and let us lose our Kitchen sink! Sharks are sitting in good space as a Sydney club with sound financial backing. Our competition for survival is with sydney clubs , not strom D heaDS. They are Guarranteed.

Looks like no one will be getting him next year. If you can believe this.

I defn don't believe that.

I keep going back to no one knew the Sharks were talking to Bellamy for 6 months but now people know he's doing this or that.

Only person who knows whats doing is Bellamy and his family. And if he needs more time because of his wife then he takes all the time he needs.

In saying that, The Sharks, Storm and Broncos will at some point need to make a call and move on. Sharks will need to make a call on Bomber and signings, I'm assuming they're waiting to see if Bellamy is on board so he can have his input.

So true we have given Bellamy a timeline, I would say Broncs would be similar.
Storm would have more time up sleeve regarding Bellamy

When can Bellamy even decide who he wants anyway? He’ll be tied up with Melbourne for all of this season anyway. Can he start making arrangements at Cronulla while employed by Melbourne?

Do we just not appoint a coach until after September? That wouldn’t leave much time for preparation.

Considering what Bellamy has done for storm I doubt they would stand in his way, also once decision is made they would like it public as they need to sort out there squad and coach

https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/be...-sign-two-year-extension-20210428-p57n7f.html

Craig Bellamy is poised to commit to coaching Melbourne again next year, extending his association with the club to a 20th season.

And in a further boost for the Storm, superstar fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen is close to agreeing to a new two-year extension that will result in him staying put until the end of 2024.

Despite fielding interest from Brisbane and Cronulla, Bellamy has indicated his desire to stay put as head coach for at least another year. The move will end speculation about his future and provide the Storm with a huge boost in their quest to defend their premiership.

Melbourne officials have given Bellamy time and space required to come to a decision, conscious that he was dealing with a family matter while also focusing on the team. Out of respect to the Storm and the other interested parties, the 61-year-old is poised to officially bring the matter to a conclusion.

Bellamy has told Storm powerbrokers he intends to coach the side again next year, although the parties are still in dialogue about potential roles beyond 2022. Their preference is for him to coach on as long as possible, although the club is also open to him taking on an off-field role of his choosing.

That could be an option should the premiership-winning mentor decide to relocate to Brisbane for family reasons after the end of next season.

The development is a huge filip for a Storm side attempting to win back-to-back titles. Bellamy has a winning rate of 69 per cent, the best of any coach in the modern era. He has received lucrative approaches over the years to switch to rivals, but has never been able to bring himself to coach against the men in purple.

The Broncos have privately been resigned to missing out on Bellamy, who they sought as a coaching director to assist Kevin Walters. The Sharks had also held out hope he would work with the incoming Craig Fitzgibbon next year.

The strength of the Storm squad is one of the key reasons for Bellamy wanting to continue and one of their best players is also poised to further commit to the club. Papenhuyzen is already contracted until the end of 2022, but talks have progressed to extend the star fullback until the end of 2024.

While James Tedesco has long been considered the game’s top fullback, Papenhuyzen’s performances will put pressure on Brad Fittler to make room for him in his Blues squad for the upcoming State of Origin series. The 22 year old is considered one of the best and most marketable athletes in the game.

My confidence in Bellamy signing was really based around the sudden and significant increase of sponsorship, particularly in these difficult economic times.

I hope that the $4M sponsorship was not secured on the premise that “Bellamy is coming to Cronulla.”

Furthermore, and by Dino’s own admission he threw some false numbers at the NRL to get them off our back.

I sincerely hope that our Board hasn’t rolled the dice on this and lost.

We may not get him nek year, however....'23?

And its a good thing.
If bomber was still here - absolutely.
But a new coach. One as good as fitz is looking to be. It has to be HIS gig. It aint fair to go to all this turmoil of getting the guy many other clubs wanted, the guy with all this promise and then to sit him under bellamy.
If bellamys here you might as well have me as head coach.

When we win it nek year who gets the credit?

This is a good thing.

Mate, I’m not sure I am with you on this one.
  • I can’t see Sponsors jumping on board in 2021 for Bellamy’s arrival in 2023.
  • I don’t believe that Craig Fitzgibbon currently has the reputation to pull $4M sponsorship.
  • If we were to win it next year (I would love it!) we wouldn’t need Bellamy at all.
My thinking was that Bellamy was secured and they asked him “Who do you want?” From that conversation, Fitzgibbon was appointed and Ciraldo identified.

I would have seen Will Chambers as a Bellamy addition, not a Cronulla signing.

Based on the 6 months negotiation, I even thought McInnes May have been a Bellamy signing as well.

I just dont see where fitz would sit in that.
From 2IC under Robinson to 2IC under bellyache. What is he - hugh hefner?
Nothing less than being under the best?
Might as well just have stayed with morris.

And to be honest l want to see what fitzy can do. He could be the next robbo.
The next bellamy.
These guys stepped out of shadows - took their first gig and have set themselves apart from the rest.
I want to see what he can do.
Im genuinely excited to have this guy. At the moment he is attracting only positive media
