marshall is no prima donna thats BS.

the guy came back from how many shoulder re-constructions

he was right about the players the tigers let go. especially when it was adam blair that cost them fifita and the others lol

tigers attack is pedestrian they need some spark.

its their forwards who have been carrying them to victories.

Wtf?

Nofoaluma, Richards and korobiete are all a million times better then that fcking slug sleau Ryan

Heighington hasn't played well since 2011 and even then he was patchy. Akauloas game today was twice as good as anything heighnos produced the last 3 years

Plus once again they were part of the ridiculous unaccountable boys club mentality the tigers had for many, many years

Benji represents Scott Prince Mark II - bringing in a short term solution that will short circuit the long term development of our younger players.

I know it won't happen (because Griffin doesn't understand how to develop young players), but I would rather we promote Duncan P., Kodi or Strasser to No. 6 and wear their mistakes, than bring Benji into the club.

Of course, Griffin has opted for option 3 - the worst one: playing Hoffman out of position which neither develops his best game, and at the same time stops young players developing.

Would love to see Strasser given the Broncos No.6

His mum would be so proud cheering from the Suncorp Stadium stands.

LOL @ all the "if he comes cheap" comments. Somehow, I just don't see it happening.

Im not sure it's got a chance NOT to happen.
Who's got a ton of cap space right now, and in a position that they are willing to commit it to Benji Marshall?

His best bet is a one year prove it deal, hopes he can prove he's still got it and look for a long term big money deal for '15 and beyond

he's not going to get good money this year though

ryan was no big loss.

but more so fifita, gibbs and heighinton for that dud blair you serious. you could tell back then fifita was a decent player.

benji carried the tigers for years.

the reports were farah was more the one with issues, not benji.

dunno if he goes to the tigers and he gets his form back he could win you a comp.

if he goes to cronulla he will achieve nothing. id like to see marshall win another title

Which NRL club can afford him or fit him under their cap? Tigers have no cap space with their 2 young guns they're trying to keep, and Sharks, while they have cap space, certainly don't have the money to afford him! He f**ked himself over by walking out just like Faloon!

dogs certainly have space, and ive heard souths are under too.

could do a backended deal anyway. im sure the nrl would allow some flexibility to get him back

I think Melbourne can afford him but he'd only be a short term solution and at his age I doubt he'd take it.

Supply and demand. Marshall isn't the player he was and I think his "brand" has tremendously been devalued over the past 18 months so while he would sell some jerseys and some tickets I doubt he would a massive impact on them.

About the only club stupid enough to offer decent dough for him is the one that doesn't need to given his Mrs is doing well in their home city, and, he would further disorganisation. Unfortunately that's why I believe the Warriors will be after him.

I'd take him at the Cows for sure, he will come cheap as there won't be high demand for him and he's been a failure in Union and has said he's coming back to the nrl, not England. He will take whatever he's offered and isn't in a position to drive up his price.

I see him as a Willie Mason to the cowboys in 2010 type signing. Cheap, away from his comfort zone with something to prove.

The Wests Tigers have ruled out re-signing club great Benji Marshall with the New Zealand superstar seeking an immediate release from his Super Rugby contract.

The former New Zealand rugby league Test skipper has failed to make an impression in limited opportunities for the Auckland-based Blues during eight Super Rugby games since his move from the Tigers at the end of last season.

However, Tigers CEO Grant Mayer says the joint-venture have moved on from Marshall and their main focus is on keeping young fullback James Tedesco and Curtis Sironen.

"Benji made a decision last year in regard to his future," Mayer said on Monday night.

"It was disappointing at the time for the club and the fans but we've moved on and we have been pretty active in keeping our kids; that is my priority.

"But he'll find a home somewhere, we just don't have the room in the (salary) cap."

The Blues and New Zealand Rugby confirmed late on Monday they had received a request from Marshall over the weekend to be released early from his contract.

"All parties are currently in discussions regarding this request and need to work through a formal process before making any further comment," a short Blues statement said.

Marshall has instructed his manager Martin Tauber to open talks with NRL clubs.

Cronulla, St George Illawarra, Parramatta, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Warriors are all being linked to him.

The move comes less than a year after Marshall pledged he would never play against the Tigers.

"I will honour my words about not playing for another (NRL) club," he said in July last year, announcing his intention to leave the code.

"There is no other NRL club for me to play for. The Tigers are my home and will always be my home.

"I have seen guys like Mark O'Neill leave, go to England and then come back to the club.

"I am hoping to do the same in some capacity after I retire."

The move comes after a weekend meeting with Sir John Kirwan in which the Blues coach suggested he either play the rest of the season in the lower tiers to help prepare him for the 2015 Super Rugby competition or return to league.

"It just hasn't worked out, it is disappointing," Tauber told News Corp.

"He's not had the game time he'd like.

"This has all happened over the last 36 hours."

Asked if Marshall would be moving back to Sydney, Tauber said they had not spoken to any NRL clubs yet.

"It might be Queensland or it might be NSW, it depends who is interested in him," he said.

Haha if Cronulla get him...Carney in his current shithouse form and Benji who is 3 years from his last good game. 2 turnstiles in defense who are either out of form or past it in attack. Would be entertaining to watch but a shitload of losses in store for them.
