Benji Marshall ?

It's a bit late now but if i was his manager I would have had as part of the exit clause with the Tigers that if he was to return to the NRL it should be to the Tigers at the current market value or otherwise he is free to negotiate with other clubs if the Tigers are not interested. It's really Benji's problem though as if we sign him we are signing him from Union so if the Tigers should be compensated it should not be from us as we didnt enter any deal with them

It was mentioned in papers that Dragons refused to do the deal though his manager ( Martin Tauber ) & that Wayne Beavis was doing the negotiations on his behalf

I think signing Marshall is similar to signing Dugan. He's obviously a talented player and will add to a team that lacks that something extra. But like Dugan, I don't know how well Marshall will fit into the team. He is used to playing around a structure that is built around him and he would have to adapt to the ones we have here. Not sure how it will work out but happy to see how it all goes in any case, if we sign him that is.

If he does sign it reeks of desperation and shows an absolute lack of faith in some one like Williams 6 years younger with more upside than a 29 year old who ran off to hugme and couldn't cut it.

I think Benji needs the structure instead of trying to score a try on every play. Could be good for him though I wouldnt say we've displayed much structure ourselves so far, well more so since Duges has been back. I really hope they change they stradegy of just pass it to Duges

I don't doubt that he is there, but the parts in bold are pure speculation.

Good on the Dragons. Without knowing the details it seems that Tauber was only concerned about getting Benji to Union and picking up his commission rather than showing any foresight in regard to future options. You always have to plan for any possibility. Anyway I'm sure they'll work it out

All it means is we will have more points of attack making us harder to defend with so many threats across the field. Defensively I don't know.....

I don't doubt that he is there, but the parts in bold are pure speculation.

Why else would someone looking for an nrl contract be there?

If we are down by 2 with a minute left in a game that decides our fate in the finals these are the 2 players I would be passing to.
