I still am a bit unsure about all of this . My mate Horrace who lives down in Melbourne said his wife's friend cousin saw Bellamy at one of those tanning solaramiums .

Anyhow he apparently let the cat out of the bag when he told her that he would be moving north at the end of the year and I quote " to be able to get that fresh salt air into my lungs " ! Where can you get fresh salt air in Brusbaane ?

Quite simply he will be moving to Wollongong and the a Dragons , with Bennett forced out of the Broncos and gone to Melbourne . And those rorters Brisbane throwing huge money at our Mary , it all makes perfect sense !

Gareth your mate is a genius.

Because he was never going to be anything here.
He and Mary didn't get on.
He will never come back while Mary and a few others are here
Can't blame him Samy. Ironically the more Bennett has delegated to JD the more the Broncs have benefited. Bennett, before the Roosters game, was more or less prepared to write his team off when asked about all the injuries and the introduction of the newbies. Even though Bennett was the most animated I've ever seen him ( actually got out of the chair, almost, and had a laugh) it was JD who was in the sheds. Possibly the best game I've watched all season and I'm not a fan of either teams.

Dragons can't afford Bellamy.
Pity really, but that's the reality Crush. Ironically it's our own team that probably owes less to the NRL than any other club. We haven't being spending overs, and apparently are only in the red for around 6 mil. I'm no financial adviser but that amount would buy me a place in Sydney with views. IMO we should be a cheap and prosperous buy.

If the Gordon buy out happens, will we have money then?
Surely, the bloke has plenty of cash.

I believe that he is no longer a viable option , at least to the NRL , as apparently it has to do with the manner in how our debt is to be repaid . Quite simply the NRL would prefer their money returned over Gordon's ' free ' advertising plan - and who can blame them .

We have seen the last of Bruce , may the doors now ( finally ) be opened to more corporations / investors that have real money and wish to ensure that St.George Illawarra are sussessful both on the field and at boardroom level .

Have just read today's Tele. Melbourne has told Brisbane that if it comes to a bidding war for Bellamy's services that they will match the Broncos dollar for dollar .

And they are referring to the princely sum of $ 5 .4 million dollars , chicken feed to them .

And people wonder why those 2 teams are always at the top of the tree , picking the juiciest fruit of them all - the Premiership ?

As long as we don’t get Bennett back here. Too old, too slow, too pigheaded.

He’s lost his charm / mojo.

Heck, l’d nearly rather have to ‘The smooth-headed one’ than Bennett.
Listening to John Stanley yesterday he said that when Bennett almost came back to us. The plan was for him to coach us for 2 years and then joint coach with Dean Young for the 3rd year, then Deano would take over. What would we have thought about that?

We're obviously in the wrong profession Gareth. If Bellamy gets the gig ,I can almost guarantee he'll take his best players with him which will annul the Storm. They won't survive.

We don’t persist with anyone. When your in debt to the NRL and they are controlling your purse strings, you really can’t demand the best

Actually we do...There were several times in the past where these coaches contracts were done, and we persisted by resigning them instead of starting fresh with a new coach.

Not part of the boys club. He's not a son, nephew or friend of anyone in position of influence within our club, so why would they appoint him?
I agree totally.
Plus with our lot you can't possibly have the underling outperforming the "master".
Head is a perfect fit now as the ISP coach.

Remember that game a couple of years ago where we scored tries at will and looked a completely different team, then we learned Mary was out for the week with his sick mum and didn’t coach them, that was his death knell
