i can't split blueprint - 1988 and m.i.a. - arular. 1988 is remarkably phresh, phat and totally phunny whilst arular is typically awesome and quite original oh yeah

other deck rap albums:

edan - beauty and the beat
quasimoto - the further adventures of lord quas
common - be

rap is definately on top this year

Geto Boys - Foundation
The Game - The Documentary

What have the Black Eyed Peas and Mark Riddell got in common?
They were good before they sold out

The Peas album is sludge; the worst album they've ever made by far, and must be close to the worst of the year. It features Jack Johnson ffs. Jack Johnson!

Common's album was pure DOPENESS!!!!!!!!!!!

Other than that, in the words of DJ Premier...NONE OF THE EMCEES OUT THERE ARE SAYIN MUCH!

Tourettes from NZ dropped a dope album, The Misadventures Of Johnny Favourite. Other than that, nothin really grabbed my attention. Canibus' album Mind Control sucks, maybe Immortal tech can pick our hopes up...

What do you expect from someone with no talent, you cant expect to much from a guy who's rhymes sound like a 12 year old wrote them...for real Fifty has the flow of an old carpet, lyrics are about as complex as a Basic Facts test, his album is full of candy-ass bubblegum beats..."The Candy Shop" alright lol

The best rap albums are the ones that don't get made.

Then they're not albums then are they, they're ideas...so there cant be a rap album without one being made...therefore how can you have something thats "the best" but wont ever exist...sounds like you're on the verge of creating your own religion there bro...

Btw I also liked Common's cd. Cee-Lo's album was released last year, but I bought it at the start of this year so it qualifies for my best of 05 selection. But my favourite this year is probably Lyrics Born - Same Sh*t Different Day. It's all remixes of the songs from his Later That Day album, but I find the remix set is better and more inventive.
