Its a real shame puk puks was taken by the Union mob, that'd been a cracking name for a new club. I wonder if PNGRL could buy it off them with all the cash they now have lol. I'm sure a few suitcases at the airport would see the deal done.

A team's name, at the end of the day, is only as good as the team's reputation / marketing. 'A rose by any other name' kinda thing.

We can lament the fact some names are off-limits due to other teams/sports already having them, or the PNG team can choose another name, own it, and make it a household name. Make it a powerful brand. I'd suggest the NZ Warriors have done this better than most. Whether a kiwi in Australia watches or properly supports the Warriors or not, at least here in WA, there are almost as many Warriors emblem car stickers on cars as there are silver fern emblem car stickers.
... and the Warriors have never won a comp or had sustained success several years in a row.
