Ridiculous to be trying to expand on the back of less than 1 season. Next season, the honeymoon will be pretty much over. Don't know whether guys like Warne are going to still be there. The novelty will be gone. Current depth is already questionable, too.

And looking at where they want to expand to, does any team from the Gold Coast ever do good??

Yeah. Like I said elsewhere 144 or so Australian players playing. Not counting test or players injured playing tests. Almost every state contracted player has a gig. There is no more decent players to add. The 2nd teams in Melbourne & Sydney should of been regional.

Even then it's limited. Aus & SL test players are ruled out. SA & who ever they play. NZ & who ever they play.

That's 6 test teams players unavailable. That's even if they can be bought within the 1m salary cap. The IPL is timed so not much test cricket is on. We don't even stop our tests. Let alone SA or NZ

You would get prob top 12 & the rest of the squads rookie squad players. Take out the oldies (Hogg, Warne & co) & the squads will be very weak.

If they did expand, Newcastle would be the dominant force. Nathan Tinkler would no doubt add it to his Hunter Sports Group portfolio with the knights, jets and that netball team. He could then out bid any other team for whatever players he likes.
