Biggest waste of talent ever

David Woods - Eels centre. Was as good as Renouf on his day. Only problem this bloke could and actually did injure himself taking a shower...... never saw the best of what he could do.

Mark Geyer - was easily one of the most destructive players in the game until Benny Alexander dived and his career freefalled.

Yeah pity about Woodsy. He had some good games when he went to Penrith but, as a whole, never saw his full potential

As for MG, the whole club went into freefall after Ben died. I firmly believe that Penrith would have been up there with the likes of the Broncos and the Raiders in the success department had that unfortunate incident not happened. There were some glimpses of the old MG when he returned and finished his career with Penrith but never back to his '91 form.

I hear that Greg Alexander never reached his potiential.

As a representative, he definitely never reached his full potential.

As a Penrith Panther, he did it all.

Injuries during his second stint at Penrith forced him to retire early I believe. I remember his carving it up during the '97 season, even making it into the NSW side as halfback, before two broken bones in both feet ended his season.

Lesley Vainikolo - On his day, he was the most destructive player in the NRL. Unfortunately he left early in his career to chase the money in the UK, and while he was a very good player over there, the fact that he never really made an impact on the NRL is a crying shame.

Imagine a team with Vainikolo and Tuiaki on the wings...

Yes he was rather ordinary at times, but on his day he was terrorising. In the Souths v Knights game in 05 he had an effing blinder

Kosef at least achieved more than so many first graders. Won a premiership, played for NSW and Australia. You're right he wouldve played a lot more if it wasnt for his injuries.

At Parramatta, Danny Sullivan. Played 5 First Grade games in 2001, was only 19 at the time, Junior Kangaroos player, great future ahead of him, unfortunately a bad knee injury ruined his career. Didnt play a game until 2004 I think, wasnt the same.

This. He would have been an awesome player -- rated him very highly. He went to the Warriors a few years ago didn't he?

John Buttigieg - Was the heart and sole of the Cowboys pack before rauhihi arrived at the club, played for qld and topped a few stats in his first game but had to retire very early with a quad injury he couldnt get past.

Johnathon Thurston - At just about any club other then the Cowboys he would have them in the top 4 every season and as genuine premiership contenders. If he was at a club that was already top 4/8 material he would pretty much guarantee them a premiership.

William Zillman- Looked to be the next superstar in premier league then never really brought that form to first grade due to injuries and such

Michael Lett - Has showed a lot of promise in limited time in first grade. Really hoping he gets more of a run in first grade with dell most likely moving on. Has speed, ability and a knack for finding the line and if he gets some solid consistent first grade under his belt can be a very good winger or fullback

Matt Gafa - Superstar in PL, they guy had it all, speed, power, nice footwork, good fend, solid defender, ball skills and amazing kicking %, not sure what happened in FG

And the other raiders mentioned i agree with: McLinden, Zillman, T.Carney, Lightning and Vainikolo

Owen Craigie is the stand out for mine.
