I havn't seen a more stupid act since Gary Jack kicked Mario Fenech in the head. I don't understand it and I as sure a shell wouldn't try to defend it in here. Bird deserves what ever he get's from the judiciary. I am lost for words.

It was a very cheap shot from a young guy who had a brain snap.

However the kid doesn't deserve to cop it from his own clubs supporters, I'm sure he regrets it enormously and will pay for it at the judiciary.

Give the guy a break !

The real culprits behind saturdays debacle, are supposed senior players like Nutley who just can't help giving away stupid penalties, putting their team on the backfoot which eventually leads to stupid acts of frustration.

There isn't a side in the world that is going to win a game with 35% of the ball.

They need to grow up, stop the stupid penalties, and when they give one away, stop arguing with the ref. 9 yo kids even know the ref is not going to change his mind.

Raper is going to have to read the riot act, anyone back chatting the ref should be dropped to PL for the next game ... and I mean anyone.

The side now has a reputation that makes it easy for the ref to penalise them, and it isn't going to change unless Raper makes the hard calls.

Perfect example there Jimbo. That filthy play has nothing to do with ability.

No one is suggesting Johns isnt a filthy player

But he's not at our club
So I couldnt really care less what he does to disgrace the Knights jumper
My immediate concern is with the blue black and white

No one is suggesting that Johns is at our club. I was suggesting that an action like that has nothing to do with the players talent as I stated. It should have been obvious.

Birdy is a good young kid but last night was a shocker

That's the thing
He's NOT a good young kid

He's a lair and he is only thinking of getting his face in the papers and boosting his profile so he can pick up cheap tarts around the joint

He lacks discipline and doesnt have what it takes to be a true professional
Shireshark-I knew him as kid and youve nailed him to a tee.Even when he was apoligising I could still see that childhood smugness.
yeah he knw he did wrong but there was something in his face that told a different story ...something not right there.

Id say definately yes
Dont get me wrong-Im sure he is sorry but not as sorry as he could or should be.
Theres a touch of smugness there.

Well, isn't that funny. Shane Warne & Greg Bird. I think they are both ultra confident. I like em both. They probably come off as smug though. Could there be more hypocrasy here? Some people love Shane Warne regardless of what type of person he is yet find the need to harp on about others. I continue to laugh.

good post holla

You cant compare a dirty cheap shot merchant like Greg Bird to the best cricketer in several generations Shane Warne. Warne is a great man and they are simply incomparable.

You'll note that when he apologised he apologised first to the club. The fact is he apologised because he was forced to at a pre arranged press conference. The victim was third on the list.

Yeah, you cant. Birdy didnt something low in the context of the game, but thats forgivable. Warnie on the other hand, has been involved in sex scandals, drug charges and match fixing. So yes, you cant.

You can compare them though, in this way: What Warnie has done takes no shine off his cricketing skill, and likewise, what Birdy did takes no shine off his football skill.

Forgivable eh?
:?

sex scandals
his private life, nothing illegal

drug charges
never been charged, taking a diuretic is far from illegal

match fixing
has never been accused of, or convicted of match fixing

Warnie has done takes no shine off his cricketing skill
Warne is the greatest bowler in history

Birdy did takes no shine off his football skill
Greg Bird a mediocre footballer at best

Yeah it is forgivable. He'll pay his penance on the sideline. What I'm saying is that Warnie has done some low things in his career too. What about taking bribes?

Warnie is the greatest bowler in history, and Bird is far from a mediocre footballer.

What has he taken bribes for? Giving weather reports?

Bird is far from a mediocre footballer

mediocre

adj 1: moderate to inferior in quality; "they improved the quality from mediocre to above average"; "he would make a poor spy" [syn: poor, second-rate] 2: of no exceptional quality or ability; "a novel of average merit"; "only a fair performance of the sonata"; "in fair health"; "the caliber of the students has gone from mediocre to above average"; "the performance was middling at best" [syn: average, fair, middling] 3: poor to middling in quality; "there have been good and mediocre and bad artists"

Youre right
I was probably a little too generous
