Blacklock wants out of Rugby

Well it was during the Super League plague...

To get the Tallis incident into perspective, we have to remember that it was 1996 and the game was having its throat ripped out.
Players were ditching contracts left, right and centre and carrots were being dangled from pillar to post.

...how's that for waxing lyrical withnonsensical cliches? There's more where that came from...;):)

Forget the Super League bullshit. It nearly killed my desire for the game and the mere words make me want to puke my heart up.

I understand what happened. f**kin' politics.

Fact is that Tallis was not allowed to do what he wanted. That's fine and a good call because he had a contract. Blacklock has a contract, if I was the ARU, I'd hold him to it too. If he refused to play, he'd sit the contract out.

Having said that, Rugby Union shits me to tears and I'd like to see Blacklock back in League as soon as possible.

I was at the Paddo pub in Brissy one day and I had a chat with GT and a few beers and he toold me he was paid by the broncos through their sponsors to sit out the season. In his own words his choice, Pretty simple really.

EA, Blacklock is not contracted to the ARU, only the NSWRU.

I agree with the others that have said he's been down because some things haven't been going his way.

When he scored those two tries in his first two games everytime he was interviewed on the radio etc he was saying how happy he was etc with no regrets.

Now after one or two poor or really nothing games on his part he wants to quit? The real world doesn't work like that Nathan.

I think they should release him though. He's too up and down and is a lazy defender, frankly I think Milton Thaiday is a better prospect anyway. That's not my decision though

He has got an extremely bad attitude! He is unprofessional! He went behind the clubs back and had secret talks, that stuffs just not on. If he really wants out he should have gone about it in a much better way, all this secretive, changing mind stuff is just cowardly bullshit.

Someone said that this would be bad PR for Rugby Union.

If you really think this then you're a fool.

Think about it. If it was going to be bad PR for RUgby Union then don't you think it would have been already? Most people, and rightly they should, are justthinking ofBlacklock as a quitter, he finds something tough and he gives up, first he was looking for respect and now he's looking for a safe haven.

It's the same thing as before. The difference that then people felt sorry for him, whilenow people see him as a child in a mans body.

The only bad PR out of this will be directed entirely to Blacklock himself.

LOL... Thats a stupid thing to say but at least I got a laugh out of it.
Blacklock didnt a missa game of First Grade Rugby League for the best part offour years and from that point of view, he was the best 'stayer' in the competition.

What's that got to do with him being a little sook and throwing in the towelwhen things don't go his way? Poor widdle Nathan should wear a nappy and stick a dummy in his mouth.

Nahhh. But then again it seems that you dont need anyone's permission to make a goose of yourself.

I'm am curious where you get to thinking that Nathan Blacklock is a sook. Oh thats right, you've been reading the thoughts of Bob Dwyer again.

Amazing how many people suddenly take Dwyer seriously...and all it took was for him to publicly deride a player who had the audacity to seek a release.

I don't need to listen to Bob Dwyer. I've read and seen widdle Nathan's whiges.

I see you are just followwing the leed of Brown and co.

Just because Saints bent over and let Blacklock screw them doesn't mean the NSWRU should.

Why you're trying to make them out to be the bad guy has got me f**ked. Blacklock signed a contract and it's as simple as that.

Can you show me these whiges?
By and large Blacklock has steered clear of making any comments.

"Just because Saints bent over and let Blacklock screw them doesn't mean the NSWRU should."
Blacklocks situation was exceptional. He played it down at the time but he did have some issues on the home front that were barely reported on. None of our business really.

"Why you're trying to make them out to be the bad guy has got me f**ked. Blacklock signed a contract and it's as simple as that."
I have never questioned the validity of the contract. Nor has Blacklock or St George. Dont make out I said something which I did not.

What I question is the motives behind Dwyer's pathetic condescending attitude and making out that Blacklock needed to be taught a lesson.

He has dared to ask for a release and the first thing Dwyer does is tell the world thatBlacklock is a quitter. Blacklock has said nothing in reply except that he will honour his contract... so who really is the whinger here?

Blacklock does need to taught a lesson or he'll just walk out on every contract he signs as he'll think they mean nothing.

As for his whinging it was on one of the news'. I couldn't be bothered looking for it.

Read all the recent articles and you'll see it just like eveyone else probably has.

"...he wasn't released after his sook otherwise he would of."
So now you're just making shit up to back up an already woeful argument.

Ok... you can reel the line in now, mate. It'll only have a few nibbles.

Did some checking-buying out a players contract is definitely part of the cap-so that stuffs that theory ,buying out the contract plus paying a wage would price him out of the game.So I guess the whole thing revolves around the NSWRU being prepared to release him.
Anyway ,he could change his mind next week and decide that RU is his chosen calling and Bob Dwyer is his enamorata.
Lovely to see Willow has for the second time ,referred to Dwyer as "condescending"
I keep conjuring up visions of pots-and kettles-and the colour black.

Thanks midas. I said I wasnt sure about that. Where did you read that info? That is, about the buying of contracts being part of the cap?

All it means (as you say) is that Blacklock is playing Union. As I said, unless something can be worked out, he wont be coming back to League in 2003.
So on this point at least, you have finally understood what I've been saying all along.

As for the second part of your post: Sorry, but I'm struggling to make any sense out of it. You'll have to be more specific.

Bob Dwyer has indicated that he will talkwith Nathan Brown about Blacklock's contract but only when the Super 12s are done with.

That's fair enough.

It doesnt change the fact that Tingha wants tobe released and Dwyer will eventually have to come to terms with that... but at least he's happy to meet with St George.

The S12s finish in about 6 weeks - the final is on the 24th May but there's a fair chance that the Waratahs will be eliminated before then.

All things being equal, Tinghashould be back by round 12 at the end of May.Saints vs the Cowboys at Kogarah Jubilee.

btw, good to see Wendell Sailor give some support to Tingha. Just saw him on TV and he basically said, 'Nathan should be allowed to return to League if thats what he wants.' :)

:(

Tingha should have to live with the fact he signs contracts and you can't just go around asking for releases willy nilly. They didn't force the sook to sign it, he chose to!

Dwyer has done nothing wrong.
