Blake Ferguson is an absolute superstar. He could be the best centre in the game. It sucks that it went down like that. Josh Dugan will be playing origin and is an absolute star of the game. Again it sucks how that went down.

Joel Monaghan did play origin, finch was hated in Canberra, vidot has buckets of talent but has an awful attitude, zillman suffered a couple of acl tears in a row , toddles is as big an example of unmet potential as exists. He was literally fired from three nrl clubs for insanity.

Milford is absurdly talented. He moves probably as well as any player I've seen but he struggles with organisation and is at best a mixed bag in defence.

For what it's worth Dugan is a better fullback than wighton and Ferguson is a better centre than croker but what's done is done. They were a couple of deadshits. It's good that Dugan turned his life around. The jury is still out on fergo.

Basically in sport potential is very hard to reach. Its a couple of injuries or a bad attitude or a flaw that might have been hidden by physicality in lower levels away from derailing. Still from that list of 8 players (one who was hardly talked up...might as well put mccrone on your list) 4 have played origin (three of them have played for Australia and I feel pretty confident in saying Ferguson will)

There will be games where your defensive line is hammered. Is it really acceptable that he appears to give up a bit in defence when there is too much contact.

Like I said he's not bad for a half. His contact can be alright but he's not too keen to do a lot of work in defence. If a coach has any sense they should send a lot of traffic his way.

Moses will be a better 5/8 then Milford. Moses is struggling right now because his halves partner is as inexperienced as he is. Milford is playing with Ben Hunt next to him, arguably the best 7 in the game. Give him a year or two and you'll see what all the hype was about or rewind the tapes to his jr days, actually just watch NSW U20s vs QLD U20s match from 2014.

See, this is the thing with Austin where I wonder if he is more of a system player. I think he has been one of the form 6 of the comp but he hasn't done enough to really get an origin spot outside of the bench if that is available.

He was a bit poor today without Williams.
