Blake Austin is a better 5/8 than Anthony Milford & Mitchell Moses

Knights are easy beats atm no doubt Milford will be in for a tougher test this week.

Raiders have been leaking points, 26+ average a game in the last 5 weeks, and 23+ for the season, it's a worse defensive record than the Knights this year. The only difference is the Raiders attack has actually been decent enough to compensate for that lately.

Aren't we the best attacking side in the comp ? Or close to it. That's slightly better than decent.

Didn't I blow enough smoke up you teams arse with regards to their attack?

For the record their attack is going great right now, but decent is all they will get from me, do that all year, beat a few top 8 sides, make the 8 etc instead of beating 1 top 8 side and having a decent score against 2 of top 8 sides they have played this year.

Moses is still young, while he has potential I am not 100% convinced he should be in the NRL every week at this stage of his career.

Milford is a very classy player and Austin is also a very good attacking player.

The one question mark of both players is their defense, it may not be an issue at NRL level, but it may be considered for SOO representation.

Soward is another player who is often over looked, he is similar but probably close to the peak of his career now. Soward is a better option than Austin for SOO at present.
That may change by next year, Austin just needs to improve his defense and play making a bit.

Yes but their attack is very good. They will run plenty at Milford probably as his defense is shit and they know it better than any, so it should be a tougher game for him.

And we'll run plenty at Austin and Cornish it works both ways.

I reckon the Broncos would be well served tinkering with their attack and have Milford playing down their right edge as much as possible this weekend. Raiders left edge has to be the worst in the comp and he would tear them to pieces with his running game

I wasn't picking either side just saying Milford should get a bigger test this week after I praised him for a good game against the Knights.
His defence will be tested more, but to honest Hunt has a worse defence and they would be better attacking him more.

Our right edge has been a much bigger problem.

I've got to admit that I'm basing that purely off the Bulldogs match, although I have watched others I haven't really paid that much attention.

But the move in but then slide out and back that Croker especially was guilty of looked a hell of a lot worse than the right edge defence and cost you 3 tries. The right side was pretty shit too but none of the tries that were scored that side were because of bad defensive reads of the edge defenders

There is a bunch to it but basically sides can punch out two hittups and spread the ball into the edges which is retreating and can no longer number up

Croker not being a great defender plays a role certainly both sides have huge problems though.

Austin for Origin 2.

Of course, I'm going to have some biased being a Raiders fan, But I completely agree. I think that with Austin's aggression and ball running, he could make a massive difference as an impact player. The Blues were one dimensional for a lot much of the match. Pearce and Hodkinson didn't look dangerous at all.

I'm not really a fan of the utility player for Origin but I can see merit in this kind of selection. When you consider Merrin didn't even get onto the field until the 60th minute and they still had around 4 interchanges left at that point (I could be wrong but it was something like that) then maybe the fourth forward isn't required.
