As good as the Milf is, or better he becomes, Bobby's claim a year ago will never be as laughable as this one:

I rate Milford highly, he is an entertaining player. But personally, I still rate him well behind Michael Morgan.
Good chance that Austin could play origin this year, and Milford won't. I am not saying Austin is better than Milford (because I actually think Milford is the better player at this stage and can create more mid field or deeper line breaking opportunities, but he has far better cattle around him to work with and share playmaking responsibilities with, as well as provide combinations with, he is at the Broncos coached by Wayne) but people are acting in this thread that Austin is a total chump; and that Milford is already JT at his peak.
Last year Austin had Andrew Johns enthralled and continually singing his praises highly, this started and continued well after this thread was started, it was almost nauseating at times (possibly as the future new pale blue hope). Watching Canberra games on Nine, or weekly wrap ups, were almost unwatchable due to Joey's love affair with Austin.
So if someone as knowledgeable and respected* rugby league analyst like Joey is allowed to reasonably sing Austin's praises so ever highly without endless ridicule, I cannot fathom why there are pitch forks after Bobby for doing the same thing.
Bobby took a contested position with his opinion. Good on 'him. Keeps the forum interesting.
*waits for Joey took ecstasy jokes.
If I make a contestable prediction, that Michael Morgan will be a better player than Anthony Milford, and in ten years time, Milford is reaching heights at Brisbane comparable to Kevvy Walters or higher, and Morgan is in the English Super League after a journeyman career in the NRL after the Cowboys disintegrated their championship team in the next few years, that does not make my prediction laughable at the time it was made. Because if I was a club director today, looking at these players to long term guide my team at 5/8, I'd be chasing better value Morgan, despite Milford looking sublime in carving up opposition defences. But with Kevvy running the maroons, and Hunt and Milf at Brisbane, despite his and Hunts' bans this year, I think they have inside running for stellar careers. And yet, Morgan looks to me to be far nearer the complete footballer.
