LOL, I don't! I was dead against the attempted move to ANZ for round 1 and I think communication could be better at the moment over the status of memberships and Rd 1 ticket sales, however I am not going to nit-pick them over silly sh*t like whether a members pack is worth $50, or $60 or $70 depending on which dodgy Chinese manufacturer you go to, or having a bloody link for signing up for membership at the bottom of a member's email! Overall I am very happy with the direction things are going. It's a shame more people aren't.

Cheers for the considered response, mate.
Like everything in life, what you feel is important may not be important to others and vice versa. Judging by comments in this thread I think you may be out numbered here though.
I hope the club takes this feedback onboard for next year. It can only help the club whichever way they decide to go.

Good response, and very true.
I also hope the club takes constructive criticism onboard as well. It can only be beneficial to both us AND them.

Dissatisfied people are more likely to respond, so I don't see numbers in this thread meaning much at all

Funny you should mention that.
I've spoken to 4 people who I know bought blue blood packs, none of which post on this forum, and all said they were happy with what they got.
Maybe they weren't expecting much, as all are first time members.

Maybe so... Although it is an "uncomfortable" percentage of the people on here that are dissatisfied (I would call it less than satisfied) I believe. Remember also that it would a small percentage of the membership base who use this forum to post their views. Others may make their feelings known at about this time next year.

On the other side of the coin, I know a guy who buys six memberships a year, one for each member of his family. His previous outlay of an acceptable $150 turned into $420 ($480 with postage). If he cannot buy just a membership without the extras next year he definately will not renew again.

This is the first year we've had this new membership structure, and no straight up $25 FC membership. It would be a shame if the club 'lost' members next year after such great promotion and growth this year.

It may well be prudent of them to do a survey of (even just of non ticketed members), to find out what they think of the memberships, but also, what they expect from memberships. Its all well and good to tell people to support the club, but if they feel they are being taken for granted, or are not really apart of the club, then you wont get that support.
I think this issue was flagged (at least on here) when news of the changes came through, how it was a shame that they didn't keep a category of "membership only" at $25 (or $35 if you allow an increase), and that there was a risk that they would lose longstanding members who didn't want to part with $70 for stuff they didn't see the value in.

You make a good suggestion Fishy, clearly upon the release of the actual packs, some long-standing members (of the FC or STHs) are less than satisfied with the price hike relative to value. The club would be well advised to consider this in its future planning.

*waits for a whinging accusation, yet again *

Is it only whinging when you don't agree with the message? All of your talk pre and post election would be classed as whinging or was that just standard criticism? Stones and glass houses, buddy.
Glad it's not just me that can see hypocrisy in some people pleading for less whinging on club related matters this season....

Seems differing opinions are only respected by some when it is convenient.

It's an honest question,

Would you consider processed having their cards and being a fully fledged member, indeed especially if they paid at the start of November. Or are they processed because they get a ticketek ticket and are told they are a member.

ok, so when you eventually recieve the booklet you can also include that in the $20..

btw, regardless of what's crap or not, at the end of the day, isn't this membership thing about helping the club?

too say that too much is being made of it is the understatement of the year.

Well in my opinion, I believe it's too expensive for what you get. I bought the membership as a gift for a family member, not for the club.

I don't appreciate being labelled as a whinger because I believe it's a rip off in hindsight.

That's life Mick, that's life. People have a right to think for themselves and express an opinion. Just because you don't agree with that opinion doesn't necessarily make the opinion wrong, or the people expressing those opinions, whingers.

There are times and places where one's voice needs to be heard above the clamor of others who may think differently or wish to go in a different direction. The need to raise one's 'voice' is not a call to shout or to shout down others, but to preserve one's integrity of belief and feeling so that one can become a 'majority of one'. - - Julie Redstone –

Maybe it might be less of a shame if we accept through (the posted opinions) that not everyone is?

Repeatedly calling people "whingers" for simply expressing opinions about club activities - the exact same thing that people were doing in the previous few years, isn't going to make fan satisfaction the utopia that some seem to want it to be.

Constructive criticism from a fan base is healthy for any club trying to keep on the pulse with it's members and to plan for the future. Seemed to work ok and get results for us in previous years, so imo it should be encouraged (not belittled) regardless of who is in charge, employed or elected in our club at any point in time.

where have I accused you of whinging?..tbh, you're entitled to gripe if you feel the need to, unlike some, atleast you forked out your hard earned cash for it..

btw, in previous years we've never had this issue with the BGA pack, however it was about $30.00 cheaper as it didn't include the football club membership, but the pack itself appeared consistant to what we recieved now, although MITS thinks otherwise..

As Strider has said above, many people made a choice not to buy BGA pack, as they couldn't see the value in the trickets. Now because it's been bundled, those people (usually past STHs or past FC members) simply have no choice.

actually on a personal note, i used to take advantage of it as it allowed me to purchase discounted tickets and recieve the news letter on line..I couldn't give a stuff about the bells and whistles..

I think the majority of us also agreed that the club should continued with the $25 fc membership option without the crap for existing members...but we had this arguement a few months back didn't we??
