Doubled? Yes

This is the first year in the last 4 or 5 that I have actually been in the country for the start of the season. I am now an STC but have been an FC member for 3 years.

So you got a season ticket, which only went up by $20 to accommodate club membership and the pack? No wonder you're not complaining.

As a STH I am not complaining about the contents and value of the pack, but I am p!ssed off that I bought an extra one as a Xmas present because it's full of crap.

you were so exited by last year you made sure you were around for this years start

Er, no. The company I work for was hit hard by the GFC and I am no longer travelling for work. On average I had been away for around a third to a half of the last few seasons, so an STH just wasn't practical. I attended most games that I was in town for.

does it not seem strange to you to reduce the staffing levels prior to what was always going to be a big start to the season?

Strange? No, given that the club clearly has to cut costs at the present time it was inevitable, and this had being going on well before the election last year. Unfortunate? Yes.

In terms of quality and what's in there, it's no better than a $20 showbag at the Easter show and then the membership, so let's say $45. $55 with postage.

There was nothing to stop you being a blue and gold army member last year.

has the club saved money by having to pay overtime and re-employ staff on a contract basis after paying out redundancies?

looking to cut costs in the very area your income is generated and then leaving yourself short staffed is bad management.

So if that's what you think it's worth, where do you think the $25 goes?

why didn't they have a membership thingy with a number on it like they did for the Footy Club previously?

Wtf?

Why don't you ask them? I don't work for the club

I would never have said it was 'good' management, but I think it will be some time before we know whether it was 'bad' management or not

just wondering PG, have you also included with that, the right to vote and or attend annual agm, your year book which still needs to be sent to you and the weekly e-mail news letter that you recieve from the club?

you stated you weren't a STH last year because of work, fair enough, but you still could have joined the supporters club and received discounted tickets for the games you did attend plus all the other stuff that went with it. Remember it's all about financially supporting the club not the things you get given.

I think you're taking the piss. I was an FC member, an LC member, attended the games I could and spent plenty of money in the LC, as well as buying merchandise. The supporters club just wasn't something I went for as I preferred to be a member (the old version) so I could attend AGMs and vote, as well as get inside info. Don't talk to me like that about supporting my club thanks very much.

I think the point is you chose not to spend the $35 (or whatever) on the B&G Army showbag .... probably cos it wasn't really worth it

which is pretty much the decision I made in hte last couple of years also ... I had: STH + FC member .... I dropped the B&G membership when I became a STH cos the showbag didn't really do much for me as a 35'ish year old ..... maybe I was bad for not "supporting the club" more??? - but I just didn't see the point ...... WHICH is basically what I've been saying (or as some would think whinging like all f'n hell about - tim mannah who went to rwanda would hate my guts) all along - the pack might not appeal to alot of people who aren't STH

I'm in my 3rd year as a STH and my 2nd as a Club member, and I only just received my first email yesterday after about the 5th request I'd put in for them to add my email address to the list (And I have had my email address on every form I've filled out).

I added the $25 to make it $45 including the other stuff which I reckon would cost about $20 to produce. Maybe read the full sentence next time :)

How many people were let go from the club before the election Mark?

Involved with memberships, none , Nor in 2007 when we had a comparable membership.

Overall, there were 3 big ones we all heard about at the end of 2007, then there was a person who left as well, some would say pushed but that is something we can discuss later, either way that person felt unable to produce change and do their job properly so another person was bought in, that person was eventually retrenched as well.

No, I was just more interested in membership, and am glad that things have gone the way they have with that now being the focus for the NRL clubs. The price of the thing or whether it was 'worth' $35 or not was just not an issue for me, and now that it is part of a package for being a member of my club than I would buy it if I wasn't an STH.
