Maybe we should focus on scoring more than two tries in a game.

i think you'll find that it's QLD who are turning Origin into a boring slug fest and I'm not just referring to Game 1 '15. Last series was the same.

They're the ones getting away with slowing the play around the ruck with niggle when without possession.

This- personally I would have have Blake Austin and and Fifita/Frizell on the bench instead of Jackson and cordner.

even as a roosters fan bmoz shits all over toops from a great height and as mentioned in the post game wrap up I would have fergo/Mansour ahead of him and hoppa as well..

we need punch off the bench and speed in the backs. QLD are too good for us to consistently defend our way to wins.

haven't even mentioned the halves as Laurie was going to stick no matter what.

I hope we win this game or get friggin pumped, I don't want it to be close so Laurie can pick the same shit merkins again.

If they win, doesn't that mean he'll pick these guys again?

Hopa and Hodkinson's confidence are shot. Should not be there when they're struggling so badly at club level.

Pearce has had many chances to shine and not set Origin alight, but many objective judges realise that he is solid in defence, and many of his previous halves partners on the opposite side have been targeted and exposed. His problem is he hasn't taken control of games. Whether that be due to more dominant characters in the team - Gallen, Bird, Farah - or him just not being comfortable taking control is a major issue. Despite Gallen and Farah being there again in Game 2, he has to take control and start owning and managing the game. Problem is, Farah always touches the ball before him, and he doesn't give Pearce the same service as Friend IMO.

Cordner and Jackson are a surprise. Cordner works very well under Robinson within the club structure as Trent uses him in a way that utilises his attributes, but Boyd struggles when used the way he is at rep level. He plays as a middle forward who makes impact running lines in 2 decoy plays on the edge. IMO he has little penetration on individual carries and particularly as a middle forward, but makes up for that at Easts with the way he's used in set plays.

same with Jackson. little penetration in middle against the rotation of Parker, Myles, Scott, McGuire, Lillyman. having both off Boyd and Josh on the bench limits the effectiveness of the middle rotation and the changes. having a utility to inject spark is what is required.

Gallen must not take 2 carries a set for 80'. There a 2 other middle forwards on the park, and the two edge forwards who can share the load too, plus the bench rotation. NSW forwards will play much better and contribute more to the cause if carries are shared. Daley has to use the bench more astutely in Game 2. Absolutely balls it up in Game 1. Problem is, he's f**ked up the composition of his bench.

the light for NSW is Cronk is unavailable. DCE on the QLD right is a combo that doesn't get much work - both in games and at training.

Very tough call to leave Fifita out? I guess they looking at the future with Cordner and Jackson instead of saving this series? Heck I thought Fifita is part of that future? Don't get me wrong they are OK players, however, Fifita is the battering ram against QLD so that might be NSW downfall. Overall is still a good team. Good to have Gallen, Morris, and Farah back. I think we can still WIN the series even at Suncorp. I know for a fact if NSW win, then Fifita is not considered unless they want to change a winning team.

P.S why didn't NSW keep that same left hand roosters side; pearce, jennings, and tupou? Now Hoppa has to switch to the other side, talk about a no-brainer here?

Oh yeah coz Bird, Gallen and co never ever ever do these types of things :sarcasm:

Try watching the game without your pretty blue shaded glasses on, both sides test the refs each and every game, as they know they can get away with a lot more.

The amount of times a tackle has been completed and Gallen flops in with an elbow to the face - just lol

PS - I'm not saying Myles doesn't do the exact same thing so don't even bother.

You can add Hodges as well

Twitter rumour that Alex Johnston or Dylan Walker will be called up as 18th man

Expect the standard egg and spoon race, sack race and trivia tests before a Souths player is allowed a look in

Nothing to do with your selectors filling your team with players who have no points in them and are only there to try and stonewall in defense?

NSW selectors have been picking teams to try and not lose for a while now. QLD defense is not that great and with a few more attacking options in that team they would definitely get across the line alot more.

State of Origin game two: Laurie Daley urges Blues critics to get behind his team

12 HOURS AGO JUNE 10, 2015 8:08PM

NSW coach Laurie Daley has urged critics to support his Blues — not bag them.
Daley has read a plethora of online criticism about his selection for Origin II and now wants the 7.5 million people living in NSW to unite.
Reminded he had been bagged for his side, Daley told The Daily Telegraph: “Put it this way, you go and grab four people and ask them to pick their NSW side — I guarantee those four people haven’t got the same side.
“That’s the reality and I am in charge. It’s my team and this is how we want to play and how we will get it done.

“Everyone is entitled to an opinion but this is the side I want. I know other people wouldn’t pick this side and I am cool with that.
“But for me it’s about getting a side that I think can do the job. You can’t control (criticism).”
Daley hopes passionate fans who dislike certain players at club level can rise above and cheer the one NSW team.
“Origin is different to club football. You have to take your club footy hat off and support NSW,” Daley said. “Some people take that club rivalry — where they don’t like a certain player — into Origin. It’s not about that.
“It’s about uniting and being together. It’s like when Australia plays. You just hope that’s the case.

“The majority of fans get on board but those that don’t, that’s their issue. Each individual is different. We want people from NSW to be passionate about the state.
“Once the team is announced you want everyone to get on board and support the NSW train.
“You just hope everyone is supportive. That is what we want — for NSW people to have a team they can be proud of, regardless of the result, they have a team out there fighting for them and they respect us for that.”

Typical got nothing response. It is a facepalm to criticise selections now? How is hoppa playing better footy than those two then? Johnston especially since he is the winger. Hoppa has been shifted from fullback to centre to wing for the team coming last this season.
