Boyd to quit club

Toohey reports that the club and Boyd have agreed to part ways. He is gone it would seem. It would be some turnaround if decided he wants to stay but I do not see it.

If Bennett takes him to Brisbane it shows to me Bennett cares more about what's best for Boyd rather than what's best for the club

Bennett is losing his marbles if he thinks Brisbane need a fourth first grade fullback on the books. Or is he going to play one in the halves, two on the wings, and one at fullback?

Off to a flyer, super coach!

If Boyd did go with Bennett no way all those guys listed would be there next year. I reckon Bennett would flick Barba.

Yep. If Boyd signs up there you can bet they've worked out some plan to give him basically nothing next year then back ending the contract and getting rid of Barba. No way they would get away with just straight out signing Boyd and keeping Barba when they're already under cap scrutiny. Hoffman will be buggered off too I bet.

In fact I'd say that was even part of their decision to bring Bennett back. I reckon the board realised that Griffin had f**ked them up by signing another fullback in Milford and they see a new coach coming in and moving people on as a way of fixing it.

No way anyone will take Barba for his current salary and with his off field issues and 'homesickness' problems. If they punt him they'll be paying atleast half his salary

The Titans would be his only option because he wanted to be in Brissy for family reasons

Considering how poorly they are going they just might jump at the option of picking him up. The question would be could they afford his salary rather than would they given their well publicised money issues

Even if they could afford his salary there's no way they'll take it on. Even if you're desperate to buy a car would you pay $20k for something that's only worth $10k

Is that car - the same car that is equal highest tryscorer in Queensland Origin history - only worth half the asking price? I doubt it. He's worth the asking price. I don't really care about his personality - I don't have to like him, or work with him, or even talk to him. Just want him to perform on the field, and he does that.

Btw try scoring stats are over rated, Merritt is the highest try scorer in Souths history and he's f**king useless
