Stewart was taken to Dee Why police station, where he declined to be interviewed.

That's not good. If he's got nothing to hide then why the hell does'nt he co-operate?

Players are probably told not to say anything until their manager or someone from the club is there, especially if they have had a few drinks.

So if I get hauled in by the cops shall I wait for my boss to rock up before talking ???...surely not !!.

I understand that Stewart is in a role with high media exposure but surely he can stand on his own two feet...what is his manager going to do...act as a legal rep as well ??.

Just reportd on CH.10 news update that the league has pulled the ad campaign in response to claims "the ads star raped a teeager".

WTF?

When did this go from assault to rape?

Being a big Manly and Stewart fan I know my view is bias, but there is something about this story that doesn't seem right to me. Usually these type of allegations occur during party scenes where excessive alcohol and flirting lead to things getting out of control. Whilst this is no excuse and is still totally reprehensible, situations like these where idiots go to far are much more believable. But this allegedly occurred early in the evening outside of a unit block, and I find it hard to believe he would be stupid enough to just out of nowhere assault a girl on a stairwell in a situation that was unprovoked and could only lead to him getting into trouble. I’m not pretending to know Stewart’s character off the field, and I don’t want to say “this is not his go” because I don’t know what his go is, but this seems very unusual and out of character for any undisturbed person. I think there may be much more to this story then we are hearing.

Guilty or not though mud sticks and for a bloke who has the world at his feet this year, this will be very damaging. Hopefully the truth comes out either way though, and I’m just really hoping that these allegations are false and he hasn’t done something that will really damage both his and the alleged victims lives.

This has been a horror year off the field for Manly, it’s really disappointing after the massive high we have been on over the last 12 months.

channel 10 always call it that even though they don't know the full details

if it was an AFL player i wouldn't trust 10 to even report it

The latest story with the quotes from the parents mentioned the girl was standing outside near the driveway, so if it happened in the stairwell Stewart either chased her back in (unlikely) or the girl invited Stewart back in. But then there's the parents hearing her scream and not the neighbour, so if it was in a unit block you'd think a lot more people than just the parents would have heard her.
