HJ, round 6 it is. We'll discuss your BS views then.

BTW, big call with a massive positive spin when you say we 'won' the second halfminor premiership of 2002. Do you remember games v Melbourne, Canberra and Penrith by any chance?

Thanks for not using the word 'bandwagon' in your post.

Strider, I guess you have never seen Parra play for the last few seaons, nor the seasons bvefore when they blew all and sundry away. For that I will forgive you.

But GP, for you to waltz in and bag this forum for not being a Brian Smith suckholes website like you want it to be is poor form. We do not delete people whose posts or ideas we don't like, unlike that Brian Smith fantasy land that you obviously prefer where we once met (and you disaapeared from because you couldn't handle the truth about your failed boyfriend then).

I am sure you are on the wrong site. For "Brian Smith is god and never does wrong" type posts (and other posts from the Tolkein side of Football fantasy) post at Parraeels.com. To abuse people at will, try rleague.com. However, to speak to the majority of Parra fans on the net, in a totally rational environment, you are welcome here

Otgherwise, if you are so rapt in brian Smith and what he churned up tonight,I suggest you change your name to GoBulldogs.

I think this utter dribble of an effort from you shows everyone who knows us both just where your mind is at, it is vindictive and small minded comments like this that have turned many a good person away from bulletin boards, not because (as you say) we can't handle it, but because we can't believe the utter time wasting crap and fan dividing propaganda that is thrust forward repetitively over and over again. For an insignificant like you to have the audacity to suggest to a lifelong parra supporter like me to change my name to "GoBulldogs" is not only childish and in extremely poor taste, it does as i previously said, show exactly where your mind level is at.
Thankyou for your oh so valuable time and thankyou for your welcome, but as i've chosen for the past year with much more to do in my life, it will be on very rare occasions i bother to visit here, not because (as you like to think) you have scared me away.

Don't panic, but always be mindful of what worked and what didn't - and there were examples of both of those tonight.

This is exactly the thing that scares me the most about our coach. He is always trying to re-invent the wheel, examples:

1) Muzza & Vaealiki wing/centre combo worked last year, worked bloody very well - this year Muzza's (for some inexplicable reason) in the centres & Dave's on the bloody bench. Wtf?

2) Last year Witty was our saviour and our halfback and was starting to show glimpses of class next to a fit Dykes at 5/8th - This year Witty's not good enough for first grade and Dykes is now a halfback. Wtf?

3) Last year we used a zippy dummy half off the bench to spark our attack (Dunley) which was always dangerous - This year we have 3 props & a centre (who should be starting) on the bench. Wtf?

It just makes no sense HJ. I was worried when I saw the team, but I thought just MAYBE [-o&lt, post: Smithy's got some master plan or he's been working on something in the offseason. Well it all went to sh!t. Stick with what works dear Brian, please for the love of God!

Just a side note HJ, I saw you walking on the platfrom at Olympic Park Station and you were looking very despondent indeed amongst the tribal drum beating bulldog supporters in the background 8)[/quote"]

Keep at it HJ, and God Bless Loyal, Logical (Well ok, mainly logical) Supporters

To those of you defending Smith - Please wait until the drugs wear off and then watch the game again.

There are no excuses now.

The thing that really gives me the irrits is that I knew he was going to pick a team with players out of position well before he did it.

Agree we need a new coach the players need to have a good look at themselves and we should never ever pick Wagon at 5/8th again.

Now i know why i drink,i wonder what smiths excuse will be this time?
How the hell can Smith justify buying all these crap players from wests and souths for crying out loud? They were crap for there old teams and now there crap for us.We need to get rid of all the dead wood from the club starting with Fitzgerald and Smith. We should be the biggest team in Sydney but the ways things are going we'll be back to where we were 10 yrs ago.Jeez its going to be along seasion #-o

Does John Morris provide anything really to our side??.....he just seems to catch & pass??...Dykes was awesome out of Dummy Half

Veaeliki needs to start.....why have a centre/Fullback starting on the wings??

We lost the game tonight when they decided to go for goal instead of putting the heat on the Dogs line early in the first half. We could have been 6-0 up but soon after Tonga scored and we were 0-6 down and it all went to hell from there.

We lost the game because our new "big" pack did not takle.

They left huge gaps in the defensive line and when there were no gaps, they fell off tackles.

They seemed lost when playing out of position, and it showed on the defensive line.

Smith is supposed to know more about RL than everyone on this message board combined. Now pretty much everyone here said the team as selected wouldn't work so who's smarter now?
Leave Smith in charge of drawing up game plans, just not team selections.

Yes maybe the way the teams are selected needs to be changed, but that being said wouldnt the best person to know the form of the players etc be the Coach :?

Yes Glenn, you would think so.
People were saying two years ago that Wagon wasn't a 5/8th.

We buy players who can play 5/8th (Muspratt, Thorman, even Hopkins, Dykes and Morris, and we already had Drew ), and who does Smithy waste trial time with?????

WAGON! If he doesn't know how he plays there by now, all my confidence has been blown in him.

No wonder I am disillusioned.

lol, my BS views atm are that he stuffed up, hehe.

But seriously, it was only one game, and there are plenty more to come. While of course no one is going to be happy with last night, it has to be understood that we have a totally different team and a totally different playing mentality this year - one, might I note, that everyone was drooling and knocking off over up until 7:30 last night.

I never heard one bad comment about buys such as Pearson etc before last night, it was all..."Wow, we are massive, we are going to SMASH everyone! We have a great team!" blah blah blah.

How long did it take us to gel in 96, when we went through pretty much the same thing? Look, vent your anger at whoever you want if it makes you feel better, but always remember that premierships are not won in March and that finding a good combination of 17 is going to take a while, and may cost us some competition points and a for/against standing in the process.

6 weeks is a good time frame to look for progress. We don't by any means need to be beating teams by 30 in order to say that successful changes have been made, but instead the thing we should be looking for is have the right people been found to play the right positions? Has last night's team selection debacle been put to bed, and has sense come to the fore?

Only time will tell.

Youve had 6 months to work out a team
Come off it!-6 weeks timeframe is 12 potential points gone begging
Fall 12 points off the pack this year and it is all over
2 or 3 games like this trash and the knives will come out
Cut the 3 time loser loose.Looks like the game has evolved beyond him.

I can't see either Fitzy or Smith being sacked. However, Brian Smith did say last year in an interview that if it got to the point where he felt he couldn't offer anything more to the team he would stand aside before his contract was out. I hope he stands by his word if by round 5 or 6 things havent turned around.
