Watch the Storm game today. There would be a few guys wrestling up top for a while, then Smith would come in and chop the legs away. Slowed down the play the ball.

Yep. Parker and Thaiday played the Smith role on Fri night. Pretty obvious which handbook Hook is using.

More reason to respect Lewis Brown.

According to Big League the guy grew up as a Broncos fan.

According to Coxy over at broncos HQ, Wendell is being inducted into the Broncos Hall of Fame this Friday.

Totally forgot he played for the Broncos with all that Red V shit he goes on about.

Clearly those two years meant more than the nine at the Broncos or all those drugs f**ked up his memory.

wowsers, thought Reed would've been at least even with Beale. Glenn will have it in the bag if he keeps playing the way he has been

yeah Reed has been pretty unlucky, he usually gets some points but not enough to get into the 3-2-1's for the round

I've been told that Tronc has retired and moved back up North. Can anyone confirm this?

Can you believe Taylor terrorises the Broncos on Friday night and now won't play in SOO. It's like being smacked then kicked in the face.

Watching the Reds match the other night at Suncorp - gotta say, the turf looks A LOT better. It was relaid a few weeks ago, it was looking terrible for a while up to then (obviously because of the floods). Looked very fast the other night, should be good for Origin and for the rest of the year.

Absolutely. But I was concerned last week when I saw a Reds player (Digby Ioane) lift up a corner of the turf. Don't know the exact location of the photo but to say if the whole field was like that it could be dangerous. A union game does a lot of damage to turf most of it cosmetic. I understand a added bonus to this turf is that there's webbing in it bonding it together so instances of chunks being ripped out aren't likely. The flood would of left a lot of sediment on top of the soil profile. To keep a world class surface everything had to be removed.

Broncos have announced the signing of North Queensland Toyota Cup coach Kristian Woolf. Woolf will take on the assistant coach role as of 2012.

He's done a fantastic job of turning their Toyota Cup side into also-rans into a professional unit and I believe he'll be a handy addition to the coaches rank.

Dane Gagai (Brisbane Broncos): This 20-year-old pips Jack Reed to make my list of best rookies. Reed has been outstanding, but Gagai is your man if you’re talking about someone who can turn a football game and play a number of different positions. A future match-winner.

Kinda strange selection considering Gagai hasn't played many games.
Kimmorley usually has a pretty good footy brain on him.

Kalifa FaiFai-Loa didn't make his list.
He's been one of the standouts.
Maybe he is basing it on potential.

If he's basing it on potential KFFL would still make the list. It's just a poorly thought list, from most perspectives anyway.
