There’s been one of a couple preliminary draft’s proposed as SQ Jets.

4 games CBus, 6 games Suncorp, 1 Sunshine Coast, 1 Toowoomba and maybe 1 away game rocking Newtown colours.

Based in Ipswich. Ipswich reserve upgraded with center of excellence.

Aim to enter NRL between 2030-2033.

Proposed 25k stadium in Ipswich by 2040/42. Then 90% of home games played there, 1 remains in Toowoomba.

Ipswich Jets, Easts Tigers and Western Clydesdales (if they’re still around) to be direct feeder clubs.

Ipswich Jets, Easts Tigers & Private Funding/Public Ownership model.

Unsure of how proposed ownership split would look like but my guess is it could be Tigers 40%, Jets 35%, Private Sector 15%, Public Membership 10%. That’s just an estimation though.

Not sure how this will progress to being an actual bid but some higher ups in QLD RL and a couple corporate heavies are keen for it to be something like the above. That’s all the info I have for now.

We shall see how it all plays out.
any idea what the other proposals are?

If they’re aiming for an Ipswich stadium by the early 2040s it makes even more sense to leave them for team 21 and a backup option in the unlikely event a team fails. Allows more time for population growth, transport & infrastructure upgrades and the NRL can bring in South Island in the meantime.

10 games at a new ~25k stadium in Ipswich, 2 games Vs Broncos & Dolphins at Suncorp, trial in Toowoomba. Done.

4 games at cbus ?

Punt them into the sun

This is like the brothers bid

I still think the new afl stadium at Victoria park could be a point of difference for an Ipswich nrl side

It will be way better than qe2 and the broncos crowds were their highest there even though it was a dud

The ideal scenario is a 40k stadium I ipsiwch and they play all their games there

25k at ipsiwch would only work if they only pay six home games there and the rest at Suncorp / vic park

Playing games at Sunshine Coast when it’s dolphins territory and they are a sw team is even crazier

Ben ikin has had too many head knocks that proposal is awful

If that’s their proposal they are zero chance against a chch team

You think an Ipswich/Western Corridor team can fill a 40k stadium in Ipswich?

For broncos and dolphins yep and for the bigger Sydney clubs

25k is too small for a Brisbane club to be playing all their games in
I don't disagree with you, but I find it hard to believe a 40k stadium is gonna be built in Ipswich anytime soon
