Brisbane3 - What is needed to make it a successful bid?

Obviously this is no slight at you and you're sharing the latest whispers, but regarding Robina, a cursory look at GoogleMaps advises it's over an hour drive time from Ipswich to Robina and about half that time from Ipswich to Lang Park.

For a new side, in it's infancy trying to build a presence in the Brisbane market which already has 2 sides in, it doesn't seem to make sense for me (as an outsider) to have a South Queensland Jets playing out of Robina when even the Titans struggles to draw large there.

Does Ipswich not have enough coin to run this NRL expansion side themselves (unlike Redcliffe) so getting Easts involved helps firm up the financials or is it to get Easts off the table as a Brisbane expansion option/noise?
Hence why this one proposal is called South Queensland and not directly Ipswich. The point of it is to encompass all of SQ.

Admittedly the other proposals are much better on paper and are being actively worked on which is the reason I can’t go into them yet.

I shared this one because of the idea of it.

Ikin is an idiot. Success of dolphins is model to follow
No other team can directly follow Dolphins model unless they’re Tigers stand alone. Jets have assets but not the cash resources. But Jets are also the preferred brand by a country mile.

You’re right

But since ikin seems to think playing games at Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast is a good option for a sw Brisbane team I think we can ignore him

Qrl has muppets running them

If they link with the (Brisbane) tigers then maybe it’s a stronger bid
This isn’t Ikin’s idea. He has 0 to do with the proposals. They are merely put in front of him and Brian for their opinions.

Never said it couldn't sustain one, It doesnt surprise me youve once again misrepresented what I've said. I said I dont think the comp needs a third Brisbane team.

Strength of NRL is Sydney. For AFL it's Melbourne. Brisbane has potential for numerous well supported clubs.

Dolphins approach is to target a particular region. That approach is needed in southern Brisbane.

This was actually a good bid esp if singo was putting in money

Can’t see how a merger with easts tigers would work like if they train at langlands park what’s Ipswich got to do with it

Looking back on it they should’ve admitted easts tigers and not the broncos and possibly the dolphins back in the 80s and 90s

I don't know how rich those club were in the 80's with joh's pokies ban.

Easts getting to own an NRL team is probably their goal, I guess. They’d have so much money without anything much to do with it. Can’t have a team called the tigers, can’t really have another team based in Brisbane. Ipswich is a means to an end?

admitting the Broncos was the right choice. Tigers and Phins had their own fans that others may not have got behind. Plus they’re only rich through pokies, which weren’t introduced until 1992

Ipswich have the population, RL juniors and Easts Tigers have the money.

They don't need to build any presence the Jets are synonymous with Ipswich right now, without an NRL club. The CBus idea is moronic, but it's temporary as the side would eventually play out of Ipswich. Personally, I'd just play them at Suncorp until the North Ipswich Reserve stadium is ready.
