I have to agree. Unless there is a resolution to what has happened at the beginning of the year and the true reasons why he was stood down are clarified then the speculation surrounding him will take a long time to disappear. Any small incident he is involved in will be an immediate headline. This will be very interesting to watch.

IMO, if the Broncos didn't sack Gagai, then he wouldn't be playing as well as he is now. To his credit, Gagai used the sacking as a wake up call and got his act together.

Yep, pretty much the truth of it. Dane was in his comfort zone deep and needed to get out of Brisbane. He wouldnt be the success he is today if he had stayed at the Broncos under Hook imo

What a laugh this thread is. Basically having a cry because the Broncos are finally doing what the other 15 clubs have been doing for years.

We have been the ones who have been raided for years and then replaced the guys we lost with kids we brought through the system or bought guys back that had been taken away from us in the past. The last few years our team has mostly been our 2008 Under 20s team. This isn't working. Should we just stay with it and keep losing? f**k no. The other clubs wouldn't, they haven't in the past. We are the team that promotes most from within, but it's not working anymore, we are a winning club and we will do what it takes to win.

They go and chase the likes of Dugan, Barba, Milford but got rid of a bloke who did far less.
At the time the Broncos were praised for getting rid of Gagai and setting the standard. They thought they weren't going to miss him with the likes of Norman, Kahu, Copley coming through. They didnt want to recruit anyone and develop within.
Funny what not winning games can do. What a joke of a club.

In the past? The Eels were a superstar team when Kenny and Sterlo played. Talent identification is the reason why Milford isn't with the Broncos in the first place. The Broncos should be the best or near the best at these things in the comp. Reality is that the Broncos are middle of the road at best and their results reflect that. Hopefully they can turn it around but buying players like Barba won't make you a superstar team all of a sudden, especially with the downward spiral he is on.
